Happy Spring!

As a practice developed by paying attention to the world of nature, yoga and its sister practice Ayurveda, provide tips to welcome new seasons with ease.

Although spring symbolizes new birth and the coming of summer, it is what we call a kapha (that which flourishes in water) season, which means many of us still feel the heaviness of the winter months as we enter spring.

Three yoga tips to have a lighter, brighter and more energized spring:

  1. Yoga Practice— Spring is a great time to add more vitality to our practice; Sun salutations, backbends such as cobra, bows or bridges, as well as integrative twists.
  2. Pranayama — Every hour we take three deep breaths, making the exhalation one or two counts longer than the inhalation.
  3. Fresh air — Getting out in nature and noticing the new growth, colours, textures and aromas as we soak in the symbolism of new possibilities.

The simple yin postures combined with Yoga Nidra stimulates physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Within this peaceful state the mind is free to explore different states of consciousness. Stimulating rejuvenation, increased inner strength, awakening creativity.

This workshop offers an engaging and experiential introduction to meditation including the benefits of meditation, an exploration of various forms of meditation with guided mini-practices, and a framework to successfully begin to integrate meditation into your daily life.

Developing a regular meditation practice has a cumulative positive impact on physical, mental and emotional health.

This is a slow-moving and finely tuned practice that will ask you to pay close attention to your experience as sensed from the inside out.

Beyond School of Yoga

In-studio Yoga Teacher Training Programs

Do you love yoga?

Do you benefit from the asanas, meditation and breathing techniques? Do you want to learn more? Do you want to share this practice with others?

About half the students who join us for yoga teacher training do so for personal development only, the other half also want to teach. This ratio changes as we move through the program.

As a lifestyle practice, what matters most is a genuine interest in learning about yoga for personal development. As the program unfolds you will integrate the practice and you will learn and develop the skills and intuition to share it with others.

Dates and Times:

Our 2023 offering begins May 13 and ends November 26. We meet every second weekend from 12-6:00 p.m.

The Integration Model

There's a lot of information. Having two weeks in between each module gives you time to implement, practice and reflect on what was taught. When the next weekend comes along you're ready for the new experience.

The program is offered in-studio but our information sessions are virtual.
