We are the sowers of the garden we call our lives.

For the past 7 years, Rev. Cath has helped communities move through transition as an Interim Minister for Centers for Spiritual Living. She has authored 2 books with a 3rd one on the way: I Do My Best Work Behind the Scenes. Previously, she served as Co-Director of Central Florida CSL, (Orlando), with her husband, John, for 26 years. Currently she lives in Kelowna, British Columbia with her husband, enjoying the great Northwest.

Yvonne Smith

Yvonne Smith is a singer, songwriter, and former creator/host of her own online TV show about vegan travel called The Traveling Vegetarian. Originally from Santa Rosa, California, she has lived in Nashville for the last twenty-one years. She is happiest creating harmony as a backup singer, both in the studio and live on stage, and has sung with a wide variety of musicians in many different genres. Yvonne used her downtime during the pandemic to put herself through real estate school and is now a licensed agent at Crye-Leike.

We have a wonderful child and family team who are eager to provide services for children (ages 2-12) from 11:10 am - 1:10 pm. You can drop your child off and have time to attend our meditation services before the Sunday service. We are not equipped to provide infant services, but we will find a quiet space if needed for little ones and their caregiver.

A Community Survey regarding our Sunday service day and time was sent to all current members on Monday, March 17. Please respond and share your preferences regarding the day and time of our weekly service as well as our location for it. We are asking that everyone complete the survey by this Friday, March 21 so we have info to share before our Community Conversation about our weekly service this Sunday after the service. If you are a member and did not receive the survey, please check your spam folder.

At CSLN, our community is built on the love, presence, and commitment of our members. To keep our records accurate and ensure every member has a voice in shaping our future, we are updating our membership database—something we plan to do annually moving forward. Since it’s been five years since our last update, this process is long overdue!

Community Dialogue this Sunday About What Our Weekly Service Will Look Like (What, Where and When)

Join us this Sunday, March 23 for a Community Dialogue about the future of CSLN's weekly service. Discussion will involve the community's preference for the day and time of our service and whether CSLN will continue at Unity or explore other locations.

Join us in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday after the service from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

We will provide salad and fruit for a light lunch. We welcome attendees who would like something else to bring whatever they would like.

Hosted a very popular writers night at his home in Nashville for many years featuring hundreds of well known songwriters. Mike is also a Kerrville Folk Festival award winner.

Lisa Firestone

Singer songwriter and longtime new thought Music Director Lisa Firestone writes songs to heal heart, mind and body. Originally from CA via FL, she enjoys musical perspectives that speak to the heart.

Jon Robbin

Jon has lived in Nashville since 1984. He has had several songs recorded with a #1 and a # 5 on the billboard charts.

CSLN Annual Meeting And Election of Board of Trustees Members set for April 27, 2025

Our Community Annual Meeting will be held on April 27th after the Sunday Service. We are looking for qualified candidates to run for the Board for a 3-year term. We will be electing two new Board Members. The Board of Trustees Nominating Committee, consisting of Rev. Cath, John Kiefer and Meredith Green, will review the applications. We are looking for people who:

Have visible engagement with and are committed to our Center and the community
Have a basic understanding of business
Have organizational skills
Have a basic understanding of technology (zoom, Word, PowerPoint) and are willing to learn
Is a team player
Will make the necessary time commitment
Is a financial contributor to CSLN

Basic Metaphysics 101

Taught by Rev. Dr. Mitch Johnson

A new four-week class to show you how to use the powerful ideas of The Science of Mind to create love, abundance, joy, creativity and healing for yourself and others.

“If thou canst believe, all things are possible to they that believeth.” Mark 9:23

In this class you will learn how to:

pray effectively,
embody positive energy,
visualize powerfully,
learn to believe in the goodness of life
feel the truth of The Law of Consciousness.

Recommended Reading: The Science of Mind textbook by Ernest Holmes (chapters 1-4) and Secrets of The Lost Mode of Prayer by Gregg Braden (available via Amazon.com)

Classes Begin: Thursdays starting March 20th for 4 to 5 weeks

- In-person from 10am - 11:30am in the Classroom at Unity

The Sacred Science of Numerology

Please plan to join Numerology and Metaphysical teacher, Rev. Rosemary Cathcart as she presents a workshop on the Sacred Science of Numerology.

The workshop will be presented on Sunday, April 6th from 1:50pm to

4pm in the Classroom on the Unity/CSLN Campus at 5125 Franklin Road, Nashville, 37220.

Students should bring a notebook or a journal to take notes by hand, with a pen. No devices please!

This is being offered for a suggested “love offering” beginning at $35 and moving upward in increments that add up to a # 8. For instance, $44, $53, $62 and so on. The explanation of the # 8 will be given at the workshop.

Creating Our Beloved Community

Community

Dottie Uwaifo, one of our beloved practitioners, has requested continued prayer and spiritual support for her family members.

Betty Lou Carter, mother of practitioner Marietta Carter, made her transition this week. Please hold special prayers for Marietta and her family as they walk through their grief.

Team News

Caring Hearts now has a new Mission Statement and Scope of Purpose. We are increasing CSLN awareness of our team to help our community even more.

We are now using the new https://csln.breezechms.com/form/caringhearts to assist our members after reviewing their situations. All spiritual requests for help will be referred to our CSLN Practitioners. Needs beyond our scope will be referred to our Critical Resources List for assistance.

The team meets on the second Monday of every month. Our next team meeting will be via Zoom on Monday, April 14th.

Scope

The Caring Hearts team’s scope of service is meant to help CSLN members with needs encompassing the following:

Upcoming Surgery or recent physical injury
Recent loss
Post-surgery meals needed and delivered (Limited time)
Post-surgery pick up and delivery of groceries or medications (Limited time)
Emotional support phone call
Home (supportive) visit
Assistance using the Critical Resources List

The team does not provide transportation assistance.

Critical Resources List

We now have a critical resources list to assist CSLN members in finding the help they need! This list includes local resources for emergent situations addressing crisis events, and everyday support for needs such as utility assistance, mental health support, medical and transportation assistance, and many other categories. This array of services is primarily under the umbrella of United Way's 211 information line. Anyone can access this to help themselves or others. Referral Form

In order to make helping our community even easier, we now have a direct way to refer CSLN members to Caring Hearts for short-term help. The referral form gathers important information that is needed to assist our team members. Every referral request will be reviewed by our Caring Hearts team, kept confidential, and responded to in a timely manner. BOOKSTORE BUZZ

Have you been to the bookstore lately?

It’s on the right side of the sanctuary, in the same space as the classroom. It’s open after the service, until at least 1:30. Remember, you can also donate using your credit or debit card in the bookstore!

We still have copies of Candy Paull’s books, which would make great Easter gifts. She wrote several books on the Art of Life: The Art of Encouragement, The Art of Abundance, and The Art of Simplicity. If you are finding life stressful, her book Finding Serenity in Times of Stress is available in hardback, paperback and CD. There are also her books on 101 Ways to Live a Better Life. Come look before they’re all gone!

We have the Science of Mind textbook, Dr. Holmes’ commentary on the textbook, Living the Science of Mind, and another well-loved book by our founder, This Thing Called You. We have Dennis Merritt Jones’ book, How to Speak Science of Mind, and you can also pick up the Science of Mind magazine. We also have a variety of related books available by other authors.
