The Fur Ball 2023

SCAWC kicked off the month with The Fur Ball Gala on February 11th at The Buccaneer Resort. The Buccaneer generously donated the Brass Parrot reception hall and an incredibly elegant menu. Party goers enjoyed an evening of drinks, dining, live music by The Songbirds, silent auction, raffles, and door prizes. The Fur Ball is one of our largest fundraisers of the year, and we are pleased to have raised over $30,000! THANK YOU to everyone who attended, sponsored, and donated to our event!

Agrifest 2023

SCAWC had a WOOFderful time at the 51st Annual Agricultural and Food Fair of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our booth was inspired by the bond a child shares with their pet.

The students of St. Croix Montessori School created a gallery of dog and cat portraits to decorate our booth. We loved all of the artwork, and it was so much fun to watch children light up and excitedly point out their artwork to their families.

When children grow up with pets, it helps teach them empathy, compassion, and responsibility. We plan on spending time at different schools this year to help teach the next generation about animal care, and the importance of spaying/neutering your pet.

Attention Guys and Dolls! SAVE THE DATE! Grab your pinstripe suits and your flapper dresses, because we're throwing a 1920's Speakeasy Event on May 27th!

Once you purchase your ticket you will be given a secret meeting location and a password. With the correct password (and proof of purchase), you'll be shuttled to your destination. Expect drinks, appetizers, dancing, and a burlesque performance by Coral Fire Entertainment! Stay tuned! More details to come!

Dr. Ric Needs a VDrive Aseptic Kit!

The VDrive Aseptic Kit is a special drill kit that is used in orthopedic surgery. This drill is instrumental in saving limbs, and therefore helping the quality of life for the animals in our care. With this drill, we can vastly reduce the number of amputations. This drill can cost between $33,000 to $35,000 depending on the specialized shipping needed to get this equipment to St. Croix.
