| | | "The best part about life is that you want to go into places and spaces where people are comfortable asking and just sharing without judgement. I feel like my biggest job is to be an advocate, but my biggest joy is to see them excited about learning." - Noemi Hernandez, 2026 Kane County Educator of the Year | |
This week marks Teacher Appreciation Week, a time to recognize the incredible work of the more than 9,000 dedicated educators across Kane County. Their passion and commitment do more than just fill classrooms—they shape the future of our community every single day. We want to thank all educators for their unwavering dedication.
We also want to extend our gratitude to all who joined us for the 50th Kane County Educator of the Year Awards banquet last Friday. | | | Strengthening School Safety Across Kane County | |
Last week, multidisciplinary teams from across the county gathered for a full-day Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) workshop. Regional Superintendent John K. Jonak kicked off the session, emphasizing the critical role of proactive collaboration in keeping our schools safe.
The training provided administrators, mental health professionals, and school resource officers with evidence-based tools to accurately assess risk and prioritize early intervention. With these new tools and streamlined protocols, Kane County teams are better equipped than ever to foster a secure, supportive atmosphere for every student.
Stay tuned for information regarding our next CSTAG workshop.
