Happy November! Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, and we want to express how thankful we are for your business and ongoing support. From routine maintenance to adding an entirely new outdoor living area to a home, we are so grateful that we can do what we love every day, work outside in these beautiful spaces, and form long-standing relationships with so many amazing people.

As we’re getting closer to the holiday festivities, our Residential Estate Maintenance crew has been busy decorating homes with pumpkins, gourds, and mums to add the prettiest fall flair.

But fall decor hasn’t been all the crews have been up to lately. We’ve also been busy maintaining our clients’ beautiful outdoor spaces, preparing them for cooler weather, and wrapping up some fall projects in time for those cozy autumn evenings. If you aren’t on a maintenance contract and want to make sure you’re up to date on your landscape’s needs, grab our end-of-season checklist and scroll down to find out how to start a 2023 maintenance contract for next year!

PS - In case you missed our project spotlight last month, check out how we transformed this 1,000 sq. ft. space into a relaxing backyard oasis (and maybe snag a few ideas on how to maximize your outdoor space)!

Tired from all the summer outdoor maintenance you’ve done this year, and dreading the fall tasks still ahead of us? Don’t sweat it - We’re currently taking new clients for 2023 maintenance contracts!

Our customized programs are personalized to each property and offer a range of services from mulching and spring clean-ups to routine mowing and bedcare. Contracts will be billed in 12 equal, monthly installment payments, perfect for budgeting for the new year!

For anyone looking to start a large project next year, we're bringing you behind the scenes on the design process! Check out our video for an inside look at our 3D designs. While you see the 2D version most often, take a look at how much of a difference 3D makes.

Both are important to map out each detail of the design, but a 3D rendering can give a full visual of what your space will look like when it's completed. Call us today to get your own custom design plan!

As the days are becoming shorter and we're spending more time outside in the evenings, you may need some additional lighting to brighten up your home. Whether you're hoping to enjoy the cooler evenings by the fire, illuminate your walkways, highlight your home and landscape design, or even for safety from intruders - lighting is the perfect addition this season.

We also offer smart home integration, where you can easily set schedules and control your lighting from your mobile device. With color-changing options, you can even use your exterior lighting to set the mood for holidays and special events with no extra fuss.

The Importance of Outdoor Lighting

Congratulations to our Employee of the Month: David Thaxton

David began with Ken-Cut in 2009, and we are incredibly lucky that he has stayed on since the acquisition earlier this year. As our Fertilization Crew Leader, not only does David ensure all of our properties have the best turf around town, he is also not afraid to hop into a water feature to clean the built-up algae!

Over the past year, David has embraced the Property Pros culture and processes and consistently works to figure out the way things work behind the scenes and how it relates to the job-site. He is a constant champion of making improvements and seeing what we can do better. If you see David on your property this month, make sure to give him a fist bump for a job well done! Congratulations, David!

Turkey Brownies

With school break just around the corner, what's better than staying in and having a baking day with the kids? These fun turkey brownies are the perfect holiday treat, where everyone can join in on the decorating.

Ingredients

  • 1 box your favorite brownie mix
  • Miniature peanut butter cups
  • Fall colored M&Ms or chocolate candy pieces
  • Candy corn pieces
  • Candy eyes
  • Canned frosting

Instructions

  1. Prepare your brownies according to the instructions on the box.
  2. Once baked, set aside to cool.
  3. Once the brownies have cooled, cut them into 3-inch circles.
  4. Add a little icing to the back of a peanut butter cup to add the turkey body.
  5. Add the candy eyes and a red chocolate candy for the beak/gobbler. Set the chocolate candy on its side so it looks more like a beak.
  6. Add candy corn to make the turkey feathers.
