Alaska Mariculture Cluster Receives

2023 NADO Impact Award!

Southeast Conference Executive Director, Robert Venables and Southeast Conference Board President, Kaitlyn Jared attended the NADO Annual Training Conference in Cleveland, Ohio earlier this month to receive a 2023 Aliceann Wohlbruck Impact Award from the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) on behalf of the Alaska Mariculture Cluster.

Together with its partner organizations, The Alaska Mariculture Cluster's vision is to accelerate a viable and sustainable mariculture industry for the long-term benefits of Alaska’s economy, environment, and underserved communities.

Wood Pellet Mill

Demonstration Project

Southeast Conference (SEC) is soliciting proposals from a qualified contractor for the acquisition and installation of a demonstration containerized wood pellet mill to be constructed in Ketchikan, Alaska that can produce 1,000 pounds of product per hour. Deadline for Submitting proposals is Dec 18, 2023 at 5pm AST.

Mariculture Processing

Feasibility Study

SEC is soliciting proposals to conduct feasibility studies that further the Alaska Mariculture Cluster’s goal of increasing regional processing capacity for mariculture products in Alaska. Proposals should support multiple users and address regional needs in a coordinated fashion, and must be coordinated with Alaska Native or Tribal entities.

Applications due December 11 at 5pm AST.

AMC Equipment RFP

Southeast Conference is soliciting pre-proposals from eligible entities for the purchase of equipment to support a variety of mariculture operations including processing, nursery, and hatchery development. Inquiries regarding this request for pre-proposals can be directed to Procurement Officer Alan Sorum at alan@seconference.org and Project Manager Juliana Leggitt at juliana@seconference.org. Deadline for Submitting proposals is January 8th at 5pm AST.

Other Mariculture Species

Southeast Conference is soliciting proposals to conduct applied research and development projects around methods for cultivating new mariculture species. Proposals are sought for research and development projects that advance our understanding of key questions related to the viability of “other species” for commercial, restoration, and/or enhancement uses, including enhancement of subsistence resources. Deadline for Submitting proposals is January 14th at 5pm AST
