Sunday Worship (10am)
Location: Monkey Wrench Brewing
3425 Martin Farm Rd., Suwanee, GA 30024
Good News Family & Friends,
Happy Thanksgiving! Isn't it amazing that we have a holiday completely focused on being thankful? The practice of gratitude and thankfulness is core to experiencing a joy-filled, contented life (even and especially in the midst of adverse and unpleasant circumstances). While gratitude multiplies joy, ingratitude robs joy. Gratitude is rooted in grace, and says, "I'm not deserving of anything good, but I'm so abundantly blessed!" Ingratitude is rooted in entitlement and says, "I deserve everything I have, and I'm ticked because what I have isn't nearly what I deserve." Do you know that gratitude is a gift that comes from God? Without God, we have no one to thank. With God, we can say, "Thank you, Dad, Abba Father!" For the past several years, I've tried to write down at least one thing every day for which I'm grateful. The kicker is that I'm not allowed to repeat things that I've already written. This discipline has really helped me to see life through a lens of gratitude and has resulted in a great increase of joy. If your joy tank is low, today's as good as any to start filling it up. What's one thing you're grateful for today? Write it down and keep it going. I'm thankful for you and for your friendship, encouragement, help, support, wisdom, sacrifice, generosity, and commitment to joining in this Good News Church journey with us! Okay, that's all from me. Go eat some turkey, and check out our announcements and happenings below.

Quote of the Week
“Gratitude goes beyond the ‘mine’ and ‘thine’ and claims the truth that all of life is a pure gift. I the past, I always thought of gratitude as a spontaneous response to the awareness of gifts received, but now I realize that gratitude can also be lived as a discipline. The discipline of gratitude is the explicit effort to acknowledge that all I am and have is given to me as a gift of love, a gift to be celebrated with joy.” - Henri M. Nouwen

VISION & VALUES
The vision of Good News Church GA is "to experience and express LOVE from God to others." The verse that undergirds our vision is Galatians 5:5b, “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” We value people, community, relationships, prayer, and Bible reading. We also value being able to be yourself. We’re all struggling with something, so there’s no need to pretend that we have it all together.
The mission of Good News Church GA is "to connect with people and build relationships through community workshops, neighborhood-focused ministry, serving local needs, mentoring, and worship."
Need a daily Bible reading plan? Drue's favorite is the Bible in One Year APP
