Hope!

Isaiah 9:2

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.”

Romans 15:13

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Hope is where Advent begins, because hope is where God always begins, with a promise.

Children's Ministry

Calling all children for this year's Children's Nativity!

"Do you know about Christmas?"

Performances will take place December 21 at both the 9:30 and 11:00am services. Children may be assigned to perform for one or both of the services depending on numbers.

There are 3 mandatory rehearsals for K-5th-grade participants. Each will be held at the church following the 11:00am services on November 30th, December 7th and December 14th. Rehearsals will end around 1:00pm on the 30th and 7th and around 2:00pm with lunch included on December 14th.

Pre-K kids will rehearse the song in their regular Sunday morning classes and will need to be present for the December 14 rehearsal.

Afton Pownall, who leads music education at Britt David Magnet Academy, will be directing this year's production. We will assign parts at the first rehearsal on November 30.

Imagine the angels singing in heaven, celebrating God’s great plan to send Jesus to redeem us. Imagine what the shepherds felt when angels appeared in an instant above them bringing the good news of Jesus’ birth!

Come and celebrate with the angels! Our RidgeRunners Angel Breakfast will take place on Saturday, December 6th, at 9am! We will make a craft, eat a tasty breakfast, and share the Christmas story. Each child will also receive a special ornament to take home.

Let’s take the opportunity to slow down and teach our little ones the true meaning of Christmas! The Angel Breakfast is open to children 3 years old through first grade. Register HERE!

November Themes

Pre-K: The Big Picnic

Elementary: Courage

Hey Parents!

Our November Pre-K RidgeRunners theme is "The Big Picnic." We're learning through the story of Jesus feeding the 5000 that no matter how big your problems are, God is bigger. We can trust God to take care of our problems with his big, strong power.

Bible Point: Nothing is too big for God!

Key Verse: Jeremiah 32:17 'Oh Lord, you made the heavens and the earth. Nothing is too hard for you.' (paraphrased)

This November in Elementary RidgeRunners, we're learning how to have courage to do what is right, following Jesus and trusting him to help us.

Car Talk:

1. Where in your life would you like to have more courage? (e.g., thunderstorms, trying a new activity, reading in front of your class)

2. If you could make a movie where you’re the most courageous person, would you rather face dragons, stand up to a villain, or rescue zoo animals from dangerous weather?

3. What is something that you know is the right thing to do but is hard for you to do? (e.g., talking to someone new at school, sticking up for someone younger than you)

Memory Verse: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

the Summit Winter Retreat January 1- 4 in Orlando, Florida!

Summit College Ministry connects and supports our college-age young adults by providing a bridge between their involvement in on-campus ministries and The Ridge. With that in mind, many of our studies and activities are scheduled during school breaks, but with a few more students in town, we will be adding some opportunities during the semester as well.

High school graduates ages 18 through 25 are invited to Summit events. Sam Lord is our college ministry coordinator under the direction of Nathan and Autumn Carr.
