November 22, 2024

On behalf of the HCCC Board of Directors and staff, we want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! After a very busy year, staff will be taking some to spend with their loved ones this Thanksgiving. The Chamber office will be closed from Tuesday, November 26th through Friday, November 29th. We will return to the office at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2.

On Tuesday, November 19th we had the pleasure of having a Business After Hours at the Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau to celebrate their 25th Anniversary! Lake Rays' Nutrition was there providing their delicious Strawberry and Peach Refreshers! Attendees enjoyed a comforting grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup and cake. Guests received a special gift certificate giving them $5 off their $25 dollar purchases from the Raystown Reflections Gift Shoppe as well!

On Wednesday, November 20th we hosted a PA Budget & Legislative Update Coffee Connection with Senator Judy Ward and Representative Rich Irvin. They provided an update on key items on the budget, accomplishments from the past year and priorities they will be working on this coming year. We're very thankful to Senator Ward and Representative Irvin for taking time to come speak with our members and community. We are very grateful to have a great working relationship with them and appreciate their hard work for Huntingdon County.

Did you know........

Small businesses represent the largest segment by number of most local chamber membership rolls. Results in the research study by The Shapiro Group, Inc. and Market Street indicate the impact of local chamber membership on small businesses is very powerful. If a consumer knows a small business is a member of its local chamber, the business enjoys a 44 percent increase in its consumer favorability rating, a 51 percent increase in consumer awareness, a 57 percent increase in its local reputation and a 63 percent increase in the likelihood that consumers will patronize the business in the future.

Research indicates that chamber membership stimulates business-to-business commerce in the local community. Other businesses in town are more likely to do business with you and your company if you are a member of the local chamber. Because a major part of a small business typically comes from business-to-business services, it is essential to maintain a positive standing within the local business community.
