Midweek Bible Study & Prayer Begins December 1st

Spend Wednesday evenings in Advent with Pastor Jonathan Gantt (Dean of the Broward-Bahamas Conference and Pastor of Living Faith in Pembroke Pines) and Cantor Kurt Schmidt as we engage with young voices in the church, learn more about Palestine today, and confront theological truths that challenge "the way of the Lord."

Wednesdays beginning 12/1
6:30 p.m. – Bible Study on Zoom
8:00 p.m. – Prayer at the End of the Day (Compline) on Facebook Live

For details on accessing the Zoom sessions, materials for the Bible study and prayer, and a schedule of topics, click here.

Worship Matters for This Weekend

  • Thank you to those who have prayed with us in worship for the names from the neighborhood. We are refreshing our prayer list beginning this Sunday. To include names on the weekly prayer list (even if they have been there before), please submit a new prayer request using our website form.
  • We will be decorating the sanctuary for Advent & Christmas after worship this Sunday, November 28th. If you are able to stay after and help for a few minutes, your assistance will be much appreciated!
Let's gather for food and fellowship!

Friday, December 3rd at 6:30 p.m.
Flanigan's on Deerfield Beach
2041 NE 2nd Street
Deerfield Beach, FL 33441
(US1 to Hillsboro Blvd. East on Hillsboro Blvd. over the bridge, left on A1A and follow the curve around)

Look over the delicious menu here.

Unique for this Month
Please call Cantor Kurt or Gail Schmidt to RSVP in advance and let us know you're coming. We will be going early to reserve a table/s. Also, because beach parking is both limited and pricey, a group will be meeting at Zion in front of the church at 6:00 p.m. to carpool and share the cost of parking.

Don't make dinner plans and come as you are! We enjoy some delicious food and one another's fellowship. We each pay our own way, but everyone is invited to the table — friends, family members, and neighbors!
We Are Church Together: More Opportunities
Announcing the 2022 Ignite the Church Conference

February 8-10, 2022
Seismic Shifts: Where do we go from here?
In-Person in Sunny Orlando AND Online

The theme is grounded in the witness of Psalm 46:1-2 – "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and the mountains shake."

Four large group sessions will focus on the following shifts: Public Church, Hybrid Church, Adaptive Church, and Thriving Church. Ten 90-minute workshops will dig deeper into these shifts to offer encouragement, inspiration, and challenge for leaders.

To register and learn more about the presenters, workshop options, and other details go to www.IgniteTheChurch.net.  Register by November 30 to access the lowest $99 In-Person rate. The Online option is FREE…with a suggested donation $30 to the ELCA Fund for Leaders invited. All proceeds continue to benefit the ELCA Fund for Leaders which has received $13,000 from the Conference in just the past two years.
Notes & Reminders
  • In light of the increase in COVID cases locally, we are encouraging all who attend Sunday worship in person to resume wearing masks, regardless of your vaccination status.
  • Two of our AA groups have resumed meeting in person recently: Women's AA (Mondays at 7:00 p.m.) and Old Timers AA (Saturdays at 7:00 p.m.). AA Groups meet in Katie Luther Chapel.
  • To claim a special date for altar flowers on a Sunday morning, contact Cantor Kurt Schmidt. The cost of the arrangements is $40 and you may take the flowers home after Sunday morning worship.
