An Update From Serendipity Quilt Shop
Happy Thanksgiving To All of You
In spite of how difficult this year has been, there are always good things to be thankful for. One is that 2020 is almost over! The list is long though, and includes:
1-Our staff - Bonnie, Pam, Diane H, Diane L and Claudia, who have tirelessly filled orders for shipping and porch pick up
2- Bonnie again, who basically, single handedly put every piece of merchandise on the website's online shop
3- You, the customers who have been so supportive by your purchasing, your kind words, and your excitement for reopening the shop in 2021
Helping Others
Thanks to all of you who kindly donated 60 beautiful quilts that were sent to Oregon to children displaced by the forest fires earlier this fall. Thank you to THE Barbara Hudson for organizing it all!

Thank you to those of your who have donated to Food Bank of DE through our online food drive.

This is still open and the need is especially great.

The Placemat project for seniors receiving meals at home through the Cheer center program is also still ongoing.
Thank you for giving this pleasure to those who could use a boost with their meals! We welcome placemats dropped off on the porch during our regular "open" hours M-F 10-4 Sat 10-2

In spite of it being difficult to collect donations, we would still like to collect items to donate to the domestic violence shelters at People's place for the holidays. If you would like to participate in this, please drop off donations of new women's and children's sleepwear, underwear, socks, gloves, scarves, hats and toiletries in the bin, on the porch during our "open" hours from now until Dec 10th and I will get the donations to them.
"Mystery Quilt" Sew Along - will ring in 2021!
There is a mystery quilt designed by Linda Grigsby waiting in the wings. It is an 8 week project and it will begin in January 2021, The fabric requirements will be announced on Thursday December 10th as part of Countdown to 2021. This will give you some time to decide what fabric you would like to use for your mystery quilt.
Countdown to 2021
12 Weeks of Projects & Seasonal Fun
This program continues through Dec 17th and is announced each Thursday on Facebook.

What's Next????
During December we will be spiffing up the shop with new fabrics, organization, all new samples (that we are already working on!) and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. I am truly hoping that the shop can be open with some limitations on hours and number of people by the end of January. Of course this will depend on what we are allowed to do as the virus continues to spread to more and more people. SO Keep wearing your mask, wash your hands, and practice social distancing, and hope that we can get the vaccine soon!
I know it's exhausting and boring and crazy to have to keep doing this, but we made it this far, and we can get to a better place soon if we keep it up.

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving, however it will be for you and your family.
