Volume 13 Issue 14 | November 22, 2024

Let us all be grateful for this special time and season when we can give thanks to those who came before us and tilled the land that sustains us, for our family and friends who love us, and this bountiful life we are privileged to enjoy.

NOTE: The cemetery grounds will be open Dawn-to-Dusk for families, friends and visitors who wish to visit the cemetery during the long Thanksgiving weekend.

Jesse Tree in the Garden of Precious Love

Advent Reminder and the Placement of the Jesse Tree in the Garden of Precious Love

Our Lady of the Rosary marks the beginning of the Holy Advent Season with the presentation of the Jesse Tree in the Garden of Precious Love on the cemetery grounds. The Jesse Tree is placed in the cemetery following the first Sunday of Advent. The Jesse Tree will be placed on the west side of the baby garden on Monday, December 2nd.

The Jesse Tree represents the family tree, or genealogy of Jesus Christ. It tells the story of God's salvation plan, beginning with the creation and continuing through the Old Testament, to the coming of the Messiah. The name comes from Isaiah 11:1, "A shoot will spring forth from the stump of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots."

Family members are encouraged to place an ornament on the tree in memory of their loved one interred at Our Lady.

REMINDER ... Benches in the Butterfly Garden

The benches in the Butterfly Garden were donated to Our Lady by two generous benefactors. Our Lady is thankful for the benches, as they provide a place for family and friends to sit while visiting their loved ones interred at the cemetery.

Recently it has been brought to the staff's attention that the benches are being moved from the perimeter of the Butterfly Garden into the interior of the garden and encroaching on burial plots. To show respect for the deceased, PLEASE DO NOT move any bench from the outside borders of the burial spaces so no burial plots are disturbed. Your compliance to this request is appreciated. We also ask that you pass this information on to your family members and friends, so they are aware of the rule for benches in this area.

The picture below shows the proper location for any bench in the Butterfly Garden.
