Greetings!
This Thanksgiving finds us in Chile. We will spend the day with Jonathan and his friend, Ethan. We got to spend Tuesday with our niece Katerine in Buenos Aires as we traveled here from Uruguay's Annual Meeting. We will have lunch with long-time friends from our time here, Sebastian & Danitza, and then dinner with Ricardo’s brother, sister and their families. On Friday Ricardo and I will go to Chillan so that Ricardo can preside over the final annual meeting of the year, the Chilean Annual Conference. Jonathan and Ethan will return to Kentucky.
As we count our blessings, we are thankful for God’s call on our lives. Neither of us could have imagined where God would take us. Only He could have orchestrated this awesome adventure. What a huge privilege He has given us to serve him alongside such a great group of leaders in Latin America!
Of course we are thankful for our families...at the forefront of our minds are our children and our parents. Ricardo’s dad will celebrate his 84th birthday on Saturday and Beth’s stepmom celebrated her 80th birthday on Sunday. We realize that both our parents and our children have sacrificed a lot so that we can fulfill God’s call on our lives and we are grateful.
We also deeply appreciate our support team. Some of you have been partnering with us for nearly 20 years. You’ve experienced every twist and turn on this exciting journey. Others have joined us more recently, yet you have all faithfully prayed, encouraged and sustained our ministry. Thank you!
We are thankful for pilots, flight attendants, and taxi/uber drivers, for people who host us and clean up after us, for those who find meeting venues, who paint their churches in preparation (as was the case in Uruguay and other places), and for everyone else who enables us to travel and fulfill our role. (Maybe circuit riding was easier when all you had to do was saddle up the horse?)
