Pastor Trudy's Sunday Message
Hope is not cancelled! Things look pretty hopeless for Daniel as he is thrown into the den of hungry lions. But it is not just Daniel who prays that night but also the king who is responsible for his being there. Unlikely hope from unlikely people. Sounds like God.

Dear God, as we prepare to give thanks this year, help us to give thanks first for Your presence with us and then for the ways You invite us to grow. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Worship materials: Worship Folder & God's Story, Our Story
Children's Bulletins: Ages 3+ & Ages 7+
Miss Christy is pre-recording Sunday School lessons for the kids in your life to watch on YouTube! Kids can sing along with the music, listen to a Bible story, and do a craft. The Sunday lesson will be made available on the weekends, but watch whenever and wherever works for you and your child!
We dated last Sunday's Worship service on our YouTube page incorrectly, making it hard for folks to find the service. We apologize for the inconvenience. Here's Sunday's Worship Service
Pastor Trudy, why do you learn Scripture by heart? (from Miss Christy after last week's children's sermon)
One of my seminary professors, Dr. David Rhoads, did it in a class on the Gospels and it gave the story such power! I imagined those first hearing it experiencing the same thing (since this is how the Gospel was shared early on!) When I had a chance to take a class called 'Scripture by Heart' from this professor, I gave it a try! I started doing it weekly midway through my first call and haven't stopped since. The scripture becomes my companion in ministry each week.

And neither is HOPE, PEACE, AND LOVE!
Signs are coming to a yard near you! Our faith teaches that nothing can take away our hope, peace, joy and love...not a pandemic, not an election, not the challenges we face. Signs will be dropped off with Advent boxes for families but you can also pick one up at drive through communion on the 29th or stop by the office during regular business hours next week.
Check out what we've got planned for the Advent season. Drop in for one or all of these opportunities!

Stay Grounded, Stay Connected
Advent is upon us, a time when we are accustomed to gathering together in anticipation for the arrival of Christ. To stay grounded in faith and connected to each other this season, follow along with GLC’s Virtual Advent Calendar, where each day you will see and hear from members of the GLC community. Day 1 of the calendar is Monday, November 30. Thank you in advance to all who contributed their creativity to this collaborative project!
Prayer Shawls
Our knitters/crochet-ers have been busy! Let Julie know if you'd like to send a prayer shawl to someone near or far, with your name or anonymously!

Thank you for bringing a very Merry Christmas to many families!
A significant spike in Covid-19 cases, and more importantly, hospitalizations for Covid-19 in our region has led to more mitigations which further limit group sizes to no more than 10. Churches are exempted from many of the requirements, but your Council and Staff continue to have thoughtful conversations about what we are called to do in order to be faithful to our call and to our role in the community as ambassadors for Christ.

We will not be holding in-person confirmation or worship from now through the end of the year and will revisit this decision at our January Council meeting. And don't forget, you can always reach out to
Vicar Amber or Pastor Trudy to arrange a socially distanced visit!
We Lift up in Prayer

Jessica did battle with the endless mountain of boxes (she won)!

Thank you to all who served at last Friday's packing session.
Send your pictures of how you are living your #generouslifeinChrist to Margo. Thank you!
