Happy February! A new month full of possibilities is ahead, and although the shortest month of the year can be cold and dreary, it announces that warmer weather is on the horizon with Groundhog Day. There are plenty of days to celebrate this month, like National Dark Chocolate Day, National Freedom Date, Superbowl Sunday, President’s Day and we can’t forget about Valentine’s Day. We hope you enjoy this new month to the fullest!
We have completed repairs at the Big Spur entrance, which was severely damaged by an unfortunate automobile accident that collapsed the stone wall and broke the sprinkler lines. Due to the lack of water, the landscaping succumbed to the heat, and everything had to be removed. Once the large deep roots were pulled out, the remaining sprinkler lines and electric lines were further damaged, and they have been completely replaced. Since mid-December, our landscape design is pending approval by the Declarant’s regulated Architectural Control Committee. Work at the Big Spur entrance has come to a standstill until we are able to obtain any recommendation, comment or approval of the proposed landscape design by such entity.
Our pending litigation with the Declarant/Resort had a mediation date scheduled for January, 29,2024. The Plaintiff requested an extension for reasons that we are not aware of and it was granted by the judge. We have a new mediation date scheduled for February, 12, 2024. We will continue to update property owners as information becomes available.
This month the HSBPOA is excited to resume our Community Educational Series on Monday, February 26 at 3:00 PM in the Lake Room at Quail Point with the first of a two-part informative presentation entitled TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE SUN. This astronomical event will take place on April 8, 2024 with better visibility in the Texas Hill Country. This rare and spectacular event will bring quite a large number of visitors to our community. Attendees to this month’s presentation will receive general information on the eclipse and why it is so anticipated. The second part of this Educational Series will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. We hope to see many of our residents attend these presentations.
