In December I came across a box of keepsakes that drew me deep into my past for about a week. I spread out across the dining room table, turned up the music, and was filled with the love of letters (and lots of love letters); concert tickets; maps; playbills; photos, and more. It really stirred up a lot of emotions, reminded me how loved I am, and also got me back in loose touch with a few people that I haven't talked to in years. I thought it would be fun to send back some of the letters to friends who had written me in the 80s - and I've heard back that they enjoyed reliving their lives via letters they'd written. I thought I was all done with this and then....

Yeah, this is round 2. It features my life in 1983. NYU. Greenwich Village. plays; art gallery visits; a letter from the David Letterman Show offering me tickets; Grateful Dead memorabilia and lots more letters. As you can see I'm busy sending some along! It's actually to a different cast of characters from the last box. Anyway, that's what I've been up to lately. As the pandemic draws on.. On that note - I highly recommend watching John Campbell's videos when you get the chance. He's the sanest presenter I've seen and his latest talks have me hoping for a change of pace for all of us soon.

Louie's been keeping me in excellent company lately. He's such a loving cat. He had a health scare a couple of weeks ago but seems to be back to normal. Though I am not sure there is anything normal about cats.

Speaking of love - I'm single and seeking - set me up with someone!

And regarding social lives, I miss everyone. I'm seeing more people lately as the weather has warmed up. I've been playing some great music, too! Last night I had a super jam with Rossi and Steve.

I'm also busy paring down my possessions. That's a little bit of what surfing through the boxes from the past is about. I've been busy in my Buy Nothing group - trying to part with more than I take in (it's tough - the group offers some very fun things!).

So, in this vein, I'd really love to sell some of my Wileyware collection. I'm so in love with these glasses that I've gone a bit overboard and I now have a collection of them. If you'd like to come and take a look, please get in touch and I'd be happy to show them to you. I'd prefer to offer them to people in Portland - but if you're curious I could do a video showing and ship them to you.

I'm also very up for gathering for musical purposes!

On the activism front - one thing you could help me with is this. Our schools are still poisoning the air with their use of gas-powered leaf blowers. This is so harmful to students' health and the noise is bad for them, too. Please take a moment and take the action at that link. And feel free to join the movement to get rid of the "devil's hairbrush"!

I hope this missive finds you doing well. I know there's still a lot of stress out there. Don't forget that most of it you can't do a thing about so it's no use losing sleep over. We get to control our own lives and maybe have some influence beyond that, but Putin might do this; the truckers might do that. You get to do what you can, but there are some things outside of our control. Believe me, this is a tough lesson for me that I have to keep struggling with. I am no fan of the serenity prayer, lemme tell ya.
