Letter from the TCPG Board

Dear TC Families,

We hope that 2026 is off to a great start and that you’re looking forward to mid-winter break. As we head into the second half of the school year, we wanted to share a brief update on the Annual Appeal, the upcoming budget season, and some fun winter and spring community events.

First, thank you to all the families who have generously donated to this year’s Annual Appeal. Your support is deeply appreciated and truly makes a valuable difference for our school community. Below, you’ll find information on the funds raised so far and what to expect as we move into budget season.

Looking ahead, we’re excited for a fun-filled winter and spring with many opportunities to connect as a community. Several upcoming events, including Artifact Day, the Connected in Culture Potluck, Family Movie Night, the Dragonfly Bazaar, and WOW Art Night, are just around the corner.

These events are only possible because of the time and care our parent and caregiver volunteers contribute. We’re being thoughtful about how we ask for support and are working to break volunteer roles into shorter, manageable time slots so helping out doesn’t take away from your ability to enjoy the event with your family. Whether you’re able to help with a small task or lend a hand for a short window during an event, every contribution makes a significant difference and helps ensure these experiences can continue for our kids and school community.

Thank you for being such a connected and supportive school community. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!

Sincerely,

Thornton Creek Parent Group Board

Dragonfly Chess Tournament

A huge thank-you to Corissa and Ishita for leading the Dragonfly Chess Tournament last week, and to the incredible staff and volunteers who helped make the event run so smoothly. We’re also grateful to our sponsors (Cafe Javasit, Ridge Pizza and Zylberschteins) for their support. This tournament wouldn’t have been possible without you.

TCPG Annual Appeal Update & Budgeting Process for 2026-2027 School Year

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to the Annual Appeal in the fall.

Thornton Creek truly is an amazing community. As of today, we’ve raised $79,775 putting us a little over halfway toward our $150,000 goal! It’s not too late to donate, and every additional contribution helps support our students, teachers, and school community.

As we move into budget season for the upcoming 2026-27 school year, it's helpful to understand how donated funds support our school. Please see the pie chart below for details on how last year’s donations were put into action.

Over the next few months, the school and TCPG budgeting processes will be underway. If you’re interested in learning more, we invite you to attend the Community Meeting on March 10, 2026. At this meeting, Ms. Spencer will provide a school budget update and share the BLT grant request to TCPG for the 2026–27 school year.
