In honor of BLACK HISTORY MONTH, we share stories, films, art and a lesson plan to celebrate inspiring Americans of African descent.

MY HERO ambassador Mohamed Sidibay is a leading advocate for equal access to quality education for all. This January, Sidibay returned to his homeland of Sierra Leone, supplied with laptops, projectors and USB drives provided by Kingston Technology.
Sidibay met with teacher Mendy Kanu and students from the Children's Foundation of Technology, an organization helping to empower youth.
“Every one of the students I met believed that technology, when used positively can rebuild nations," said Sidibay. "They want to be pioneers, web developers, programmers, journalists, and support from organizations like The MY HERO Project allows them to continue to dream and work towards a brighter future.”

MY HERO - iEARN LEARNING CIRCLE
Winter-Spring
Teachers can still register for this winter/spring MY HERO - iEARN Learning Circle Session.
Participants currently include classes from the United States, Moldova, Sierra Leone, Canada, Azerbaijan and Slovenia.
Students participate online - publishing essays, portraits, songs and short films on a local or global hero Teachers Laura Nietzer and Madiline Guillan mentor teachers exploring the theme of heroism with students around the globe in this learning circle.

In the summer of 1995, MY HERO was launched online with the goal of sharing hero stories from around the world. For our 25th Anniversary, we are asking our community to share photos, films, stories and any other relevant information about MY HERO's impact in your community.
