Featured Artist, Irene Abramowitz
Irene Abramowitz was born and raised in Manhattan, KA also known as the “Little Apple”. Having to choose between classes in art or music in high school, she chose art. Her next exposure to painting was while living her dream as a wife to Ben and mother to their three sons and their families.
“When the boys were in school and Ben was in Viet Nam, I enrolled in art classes under a local artist, Leonard Bandel, at the community center in Kansas City and other Army Posts. I’ve never painted at home” she said, “and I never wanted to sell my paintings although I have and will again. I get too attached to them. I enjoy painting
for my family.”
It was here at IRCC where she got serious about painting. Her favorite medium is oil and her home is her art gallery filled with her wonderful works of art.

Ever seen a manatee in the wild? Manatees (or sea cows) are gentle, lumbering aquatic mammals that number in the thousands here on the Space Coast, also the largest sea turtle nesting grounds in the U.S.
The Sea Turtle Preservation Society
is a not-for-profit organization conducts turtle walks. Trained volunteers are permitted by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission.
