LSO Chamber Music Series
Although the beloved Lakeside Symphony Orchestra (LSO) season has been postponed until 2021, classical music will be heard from the Steele Memorial Bandstand this summer. The LSO Chamber Music Series will feature four concerts at 7:30 p.m. between July 29 and August 7.
Colin Davin
7:30 p.m., Wednesday
Colin Davin returns for a solo classical guitar concert. Lakesiders may recognize him from his guitar solo with the LSO last summer.
The Braid Quintet
7:30 p.m., Friday
The quintet will play Sonata No. 3 by Rossini and a John Williams trilogy, including music from "Jurassic Park," "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Star Wars."
This week ONLY in Lakeside!
Mouse Island Sailing Race
8 a.m., Saturday
All participants are to register at 8 a.m. at the Lakeside Sailing Center.
The race starts at 9 a.m. and is approximately two-three hours. There is no cost to participate.
Island Song Trio
2-4 p.m., Saturday
The music of the Island Song Trio will be featured at the Pavilion during the Craft & Art Show. The Island Song Trio features local musicians John Davenport, David Altman and Tim Barrett.
Laura Camara
7:30 p.m., Saturday
Visiting the Lakeside Steele Memorial Bandstand, Laura Camara is perhaps most known for her powerful voice, musical versatility and innovative improvisation.
Long Time Gone
6 p.m., Sunday
Long Time Gone features the music of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young. The group personifies the sound and feel of an era in American music that may never be seen again.
Vearl Smith Historic Preservation Workshop
10:30 a.m., Thursday
This virtual lecture with Sarah Marsom explores how both the well-known and hidden histories of former segregated communities can be preserved today.
Religious Seminar
Monday-Wednesday
Join Dr. Greg Linville to discuss C. S. Lewis’ book, The Problem of Pain, and the Pandemics . Meet at the Train Station Patio on Monday and Wednesday and the Pavilion East Deck on Tuesday.
Lakeside Craft & Art Show
Friday & Saturday
Rain or shine, the show will take place from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. The show features photography, jewelry, home décor and more. View our safety procedures here .

The tournament is open to any players age 15 & under.
All Lakeside Pickleball Tournament
Friday-Saturday
This annual tournament includes singles and doubles divisions for a variety of skill levels. Players of all ages are welcome to participate.

Monday-Friday
Players may enter a maximum of three events . Entry fees are $10 per doubles team event and $8 per singles event. All entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Saturday, July 25. Register here.
Tennis Clinic with JoAnne Russell & Steve Vaughan

Clinic sessions will be set up in 75-minute timeslots organized according to skill level; 15 players per session. Registration is $20 per person, per clinic. Register here.

Farmers' Market

The bi-weekly Farmers' Market has relocated to the greenspace around the Lakeside Schoolhouse to practice safe social distancing. View hours and safety protocols.
Picnic in Perry Park

For at least 20 years, Wednesday evenings have been an exciting day at Lakeside with a special family picnic. This summer’s event will have a few new twists. RSVP to this week's picnic .

This program will be held at the Steele Memorial Bandstand and recorded and uploaded later in the day to our website and YouTube page. The Fr. Michael A. Renninger’s theme for the week is “Dining in the Kingdom of God.”

Ward Catering  offers a fresh menu of pre-ordered to-go meals every Thursday. Pre-order by 4 p.m. Wednesday. All meals are individually packaged as “heat-and-eat” refrigerated boxes. Limited quantities available.
Centering Prayer
8 a.m., Thursday
Start your day with at the Hotel Lakeside lawn near the Beebe Memorial Telescope. After a brief devotional reading, we will sit in quiet prayer for 20 minutes, and then offer a time for reflection. For questions, contact Tom Frost at (434) 906-5959.

Lakeside is partnering with the American Red Cross to offer online training courses . This week we're offering Water Safety for Parents & Caregivers; First Aid, Health & Safety for Coaches; Adult, Child & Baby First Aid/CPR/AED; and Adult First Aid/CPR/AED. Register here .

Miniature Golf Tournament
2 p.m. Thursday
All ages are welcome to play. Prizes awarded according to age groups. Cost to play miniature golf is $3.50/game. In the case of inclement weather, the event is cancelled.
Fitness Classes
A variety of fitness classes are offered to all ages throughout the week. Week 6 classes include: All Level Yoga, Chair Yoga, Beach Walk and so much more. View full class descriptions on our website or the app .

Storybook Walk
Monday & Friday
Families can exercise body and mind as they follow a path through Cherry Park where pages from a hand-picked storybook will be posted at stations along the way. New story every week.
MGM
Monday-Thursday
Participants will discover the relevance of God in their lives, enjoy music, meet new friends and compete for candy in games and activities. Coordinated by John and Bonnie Wilkie.
God Squad
Tuesday-Thursday
This popular children's event features live music with interactive lessons and a fun craft. Coordinated by Chip Richter. Two sessions for different age groups: ages 4-6 and 7-9 .
Children's Church Celebration
9:30 a.m., Sunday
The Children's Church Celebration begins with an outdoor processional at the conclusion of the Dockside Worship Service (approximately 9:30 a.m. at the Steele Memorial Bandstand) and proceed down Kenton Row and Cedar Ave. to Bradley Temple. The event will end by 10:15 a.m.
