Senate confirms Isabel Guzman as Small Business Administration chief, who will help steer Covid recovery

(cnbc.com) The Senate confirmed Isabel Guzman to head the Small Business Administration on Tuesday, putting her in charge of helping to lead Main Street beyond the damage wrought by Covid-19. The chamber approved her nomination in an 81-17 vote. Guzman had served as director of California’s Office of the Small Business Advocate. She has overseen small business relief for the country’s largest state throughout the pandemic.
USCIS May Reopen H-1B Petitions Denied Under Three Rescinded Policy Memos

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced it may reopen and/or reconsider adverse decisions on Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker, made based on three rescinded policy memos. USCIS will generally use its discretion to accept a motion to reopen filed more than 30 days after the decision, if filed before the end of the validity period requested on the petition or labor condition application, whichever is earlier, and the decision was based on one or more policies in the rescinded H-1B memoranda.
What New Yorkers Need to Know About COVID-19 Vaccines

New York City is committed to keeping everyone safe and healthy by ensuring that access to COVID-19 vaccines is fair and equitable. COVID-19 vaccines will likely be available for most New Yorkers by mid-2021. Some people, such as health care workers, essential workers who cannot separate from others, and older adults and other people at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19 can currently get vaccinated.

Apple Impact Accelerator Program

Apple’s Impact Accelerator application is now open for Hispanic/ Latinx-, Black-, and Indigenous (Native American)-owned businesses that provide environmental solutions and services.

The Accelerator is part of Apple’s Racial Equity and Justice Initiative and is a key part of Apple’s strategy to be 100% carbon neutral by 2030. Selected participants will begin The Accelerator program in August 2021.

Applications are due Friday, April 30th at 11:59p.m. PT
