Today is World Kindness Day. Launched in 1998 by The World Kindness Movement, currently over 28 nations participate, including the US of A. Not affiliated with any religion or political movement, the mission is to create a kinder world by encouraging individuals and countries to participate in both small and large acts of kindness.

By making others feel better -- no surprise -- you'll feel better, too! In the words of J. M. Barrie, author of Peter Pan , "Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves." Let's spread those good vibes around...and not just today but every day!

Kindness Is Contagious
  • Pay someone a compliment
  • Hold the door for somebody
  • Smile, smile, smile
  • Hug someone
  • Send a written "thinking of you" note
  • Call (don't text!) a friend
  • Don't judge...you may not know the burdens another person is carrying
  • Be kind to yourself -- to quote author Jack Kornfield, "If your compassion does not include yourself, it is incomplete."
