The NCE's state match funding continues to be at risk. Here is what your need to know about where we are now:

The Governor proposed in his recent budget ending the match transfers and terminating the CPEF (LB1072). The existing $15 million of match funds in the CPEF would be taken back into the State’s general fund.

After our initial advocacy, the Appropriations Committee heard our message, but they still voted to recommend a one-time $5 million sweep from the CPEF to address our state’s budget crisis. The vote was 5-4.

The Budget is now up for floor debate by the full legislature over the next couple of weeks.

Celebrating 25 years of statewide support for the arts & humanities

Established in 1998, the NCE is the first and only public-private cultural trust in the nation built to support and sustain the arts and humanities. Each year, Endowment funds are distributed across the state through our partners at the Nebraska Arts Council and Humanities Nebraska, contributing to the quality of life for all Nebraskans.
