Dear Friends,
This Holiday Season, we send wishes of health and joy to you and yours! We are also mindful of our deep appreciation for the opportunity to be in community with our scholars and their families as well as our volunteers, mentors, donors, supporters, and partners.

TOGETHER, we are transforming lives and communities.

With best wishes,
Erin Snell, PhD

The Community Hubs Team came together last week to celebrate the holiday season and engage in further training with Anne Arundel County Conflict Resolution Center. This team of people is doing incredible work partnering with families and transforming lives and communities! Community Hubs is a partnership between People Builders Consulting, Newtowne CDC, and Charting Careers funded through a contract with AACPS. We are grateful to Eastport United Methodist Church for sharing their space with us and Conflict Resolution Center for their powerful training.
Scholars learned about our college students and helped prepare care packages for those who are away at school. Care packages included snacks, warm weather gear, art supplies and special affirmations.
Scholars learned about giving back and made 19 Thanksgiving “Make one, Take one” food bags. We want to thank our food drive donors: Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, Harvest Resources in Anne Arundel County, and individuals!
Scholars have been enjoying visits to the Busch Annapolis Public Library. Recently, one of our scholars asked to meet "the boss", so Library Manager Ms. Diane spent some time meeting and chatting with this young man.
As holiday gifts, scholars were each able to select an assortment of books, journals, art supplies, and sports equipment.
The Annapolis Maritime Museum's Park Location provides an ideal setting for our collaborative after school program.
We are so grateful to our dedicated volunteers who come to our after school program each week and mentor and tutor our scholars.
THE NEXT MENTOR ORIENTATION SESSION IS COMING SOON!
Mentoring involves 5-10 hours a month of volunteerism. Charting Careers partners with mentors to ensure scholars are supported by our community. Please sign up here to find out more or email our Mentor Coordinator, Linda Mundy, for instructions on how to join this virtual informational session.

* Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) male mentors and Spanish-speaking mentors are especially needed at this time*
Charting Careers is deeply grateful to have received a new grant from The Moriah Fund! The Moriah Fund is a private foundation dedicated to promoting human rights and social justice.
