Building community in the Upper Valley of NH and VT through the media arts.

Happy Holidays from JAM! // December 24, 2024

"Thank you for this vibrant offering of story-telling. I hadn't thought of myself as a story-teller but fell in love with storytelling the minute I moved to Vermont. It's wonderful to be in the presence of you who organize and the people who come, and to feel such acceptance for whatever stories we share. And thank you for all of the hard work it takes to keep offering this gift to us." – Story Jam participant, fall 2024

Mediated Lives

TikTok on trial

In 2024 JAM launched "Mediated Lives," a program thread exploring the role of media in shaping our identities, communities and democracy. Anticipating the legal showdown now underway, Lebanon High students adjudicated TikTok's case against the U.S. in a "moot Supreme Court" led by VT Law and Graduate School Pres. Rod Smolla.

Livestream/broadcast produced by JAM Digital Seniors & High School Media Fellows at BOH.

Voices of the Voters

In this intimate 5-part audio documentary series, journalist Frances Mize vibe-checked the Upper Valley in advance of the 2024 national election, engaging local residents at the bus stop, BJs, the Tunbridge Fair, and parking lots who were willing to share. The project was more interested in how local people feel about their country today and its future than how they would vote. Produced by Frances Mize, edited by Keslie Hogue for JAM.

...and good tidings from Hanover Parks & Rec Gingerbread Night!
