I want to start by wishing you and your family a happy and healthy Passover!
Holidays are a time for connecting with family and friends. Through good food and camaraderie and retelling the story of the Exodus at our seders, we appreciate being part of the Jewish people.
However, not everyone is so fortunate. There are many in our community whose Passover will be less celebratory, because they are isolated from friends and family…or struggling with age, caring for sick loved ones, or dealing with other issues.
The Jewish Federation, through our signature program Jewish Family & Children's Services, is here to help our fellow Jews in need.
By providing homecare to Holocaust survivors, counseling to local seniors, or helping hungry Jews in Ocean County, the former Soviet Union, or Israel – we make sure that no member of our Jewish community is alone.
That, too, is part of the message of Passover and the value of being part of the Jewish people – we are part of a bigger story and never truly alone.
Your tzedakah during this holiday is another way to commemorate the Passover story.
Thank you. Chag Sameach – best for a happy and healthy Passover.
