Save the date: Lunar New Year Festival
to be held February 16, 2019
Join us on February 16, 2019 in the San Gabriel Mission District for our next Lunar New Year celebration! Lunar New Year is the most celebrated holiday in Asia with many large festivals and events held around the world.

The San Gabriel Lunar New Year Festival combines tradition with modern celebrations, resulting in a unique festival that is enjoyable for all.
Athens offering Christmas tree removal
On your trash day from December 31 to January 11, Athens Services is offering free Christmas tree removals. Simply place your tree at the curbside on your trash day and Athens will pick it up.

For those in apartments, place your trees out on the curbside on your neighborhood's trash day for a free pick-up.
New appointment slots for passport services
now offered for Monday and Friday
The Community Services Department is proud to announce that we are extending our passport service days to offer appointments on Monday and Friday beginning on Monday, January 14, 2019. Travelers may schedule an appointment between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to process their passport applications. 
Apply for Rising Stars Talent Competition
for a chance to win $500
Are you or your group interested in performing at the 2019 San Gabriel Lunar New Year Festival's talent competition?

Submit an application for your chance to perform live and win $500! The final date to submit an application is January 25, 2019. A festival staff member will contact you by February 1st, 2019 to notify you of your application status. Invited applicants will then audition live as part of the screening process.
