“Joining a Riverbat Resource Group is a valuable opportunity to enhance your workplace experience, contribute to a positive culture, and grow both personally and professionally.” - QueenSamantha Ackers
“To create a district wide culture of belonging without othering, and where all collaborate and connect exceptionally well, requires a reweaving of our identities and reconstitution of our sense of self. ‘I am because you are’ (Ubuntu). Riverbat Resource Groups captures this truth while underscoring a sense of deep unity between all of us.” - Larry Davis, Vice Chancellor Belonging & Purpose.

Support the Employee Emergency Fund
Whether you need a dose of sugary courage or a reward for getting your flu shot at Highland on Wednesday, Oct. 16, you'll want to check out HR's Bake Sale!
We will be set up in HLC Building 1000, just outside Room 1433 (aka the faculty lounge), from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with tables full of homemade cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and more. All proceeds go to the ACC Emergency Fund, which provides crucial assistance to members of the ACC community when they need it most.
FUN FACT: Calories don't count when you're helping out our family!
We know an emergency can happen to any of us at any time. It's our honor to support ACC colleagues during their time of need. We rely on private contributions, so any donations or cookie sales are appreciated.
Can't make it? Here's how to donate OR make a paycheck contribution

Where can I go for resources on steps for the hiring process?
We're so glad you asked! You may recall from our July newsletter that the HR Office has initiated a collaborative Strike Team to project manage our recruit to hire (R2H) process to decrease the time it takes for a job to be posted, to the time a candidate accepts the offer - to 30 days or less!
We've made a TON of progress (thanks to our pillar leads: Lisa Griggs - Operational Excellence Soledad Garcia-Brady - Training; Anna Carrasco - Tools & Resources).
One of the outcomes we're thrilled to roll out is our Hiring Manager Checklist. This tool is currently for staff hiring, but check out our Staff Hiring FAQ website for more resources. Please note that the checklist and the rest of the tools and resources are "under construction."

Lisa Griggs
Compensation Specialist
| |
| |
"It was clear after having Lisa with us for seven months as an hourly employee that her resourcefulness and positive spirit were an asset to the team." HR Vice Chancellor Kelly Torrico said. "We were thrilled when she applied for and was selected for the position of Compensation Specialist earlier this year!"
We'll let Lisa tell us about herself in her own words, in this video Conversation with Kelly.
Thanks, Lisa, for helping make ACC a wonderful place to work!

We had a blast meeting local employees who enjoyed our theme - Halloweeeeeen! Join us on November 6th for the next HR AMA. The Hot Topic will be "Recruiting and Hiring."
A special thanks to Cara Crowley, Special Advisor to the Chancellor for Basic Needs Systems, and Christie Curtis, Director of Basic Needs Outreach, for sharing about the work being done to support ACC students in the area of Basic Needs.
