Now’s the Time: A Call to Reflect, Refocus, and Recommit

Riverbats,

As we stand at the edge of a new academic year, ACC is entering a critical phase of transformation, and your leadership matters more than ever.

We are moving into implementation of the Compensation & Classification Study. Our Theory of Change work is entering an action phase. Student Affairs is reorganizing to better serve students. And across the College, conversations are intensifying about culture, accountability, communication, and leadership.

That’s why your engagement in the Performance Excellence Program (PEP) this season isn’t just expected - it’s essential. PEP is your opportunity to:

  • Reflect on how your work aligns with ACC’s evolving mission
  • Reinforce expectations and standards of excellence
  • Provide clear, honest feedback to those you lead
  • Speak to your own growth, priorities, and support needs

There should be no surprises in a PEP conversation. Whether you're giving or receiving feedback, this is your moment to take ownership, name your impact, and chart a path forward.

✅ Employees – Use your self-evaluation to show who you are, how you contribute, and what you’re ready to do next.

✅ Supervisors – Use this time to recognize excellence, clarify expectations, and hold space for meaningful dialogue and accountability.

As Guidehouse’s Classification & Compensation study enters the implementation stage this fall, HR will be partnering with leaders across the College to update job profiles, and, in some cases, reclassify individuals based on the work they perform. If you think your job profile needs updating, now is the time to discuss it with your manager.  If your manager is aligned and has not already done so, they should enter a Mojo ticket with the changes required and rationale.

Your HR Business Partner is here to help you prepare, guide conversations, and troubleshoot. We’ve also updated our PEP webpage with tools to support your success.

Excellence isn’t accidental. Let’s use this season to strengthen our teams, center our mission, and prepare to lead in one of the most dynamic chapters of ACC’s history.

In partnership,

Kelly Torrico

YOU ASKED!

Requirements for completing PEP self-evaluations have employees hunting for documents they don't use regularly. So today, "You Asked" is a triple feature!

How do I find my job profile?

Log into Workday and click on your Profile. Select the View Profile button. In the purple block on the left, click on Summary. Navigate to Job Profile on the right. Your job profile lays out the tasks and responsibilities laid out for you when you were hired for that position.

How do know if I've completed mandatory compliance courses?

Log into Workday, then find and click on Learning in the list of Apps. On the left. select My Learning. In the center of the page, click on View Learning Transcript. If you've completed your compliance training for 2025, it will be noted here.

How do I know how many Learning hours I've collected?

Same instructions: Workday > Learning > My Learning > View Learning Transcript. Here you'll see not only your mandatory compliance courses, but also other courses you've been credited with taking.

Reminder: Annual Compliance Training Due August 1

All employees are required to complete Mandatory Compliance Training each year. This year’s deadline is August 1, 2025, to ensure managers can reflect completion in PEP evaluations.

In addition, be sure to share any extra courses or learning opportunities you’ve pursued. Your manager will consider these efforts when assessing your commitment to professional development and our shared goals for growth.

New HappyHR Bites to Sign Up For!

Keeping track of your team's absences is one of those administrative chores that can eat time you'd rather spend on something else. But Workday does most of the work for you if you're using it right. Learn how in our next HappyHR Bite training session.

And, as you go through performance evaluations this summer, you may encounter the need to enact a PIP -- a Performance Improvement Program. That's done in Workday, too, and we'll show you how.

ACC to Hold Adjunct Hiring Fair

A significant increase in enrollment for Fall '25 has created the need for more adjunct faculty members at ACC. To help fill the need, there will be an Adjunct Faculty Hiring Fair on Friday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Representatives from various departments will be on-site, ready to interview and fill open positions. You can view the openings here.

The fair hopes to attract:

  • Current qualified ACC professional-technical employees
  • Current faculty at other higher ed institutions
  • Anyone qualified and interested in teaching (Each job posting lists specific requirements)

Organizers say faculty experience is not required. Most important is having solid subject matter expertise and a desire to support our students.

ACC allows full-time professional-technical employees to work as an adjunct, assuming the secondary position does not conflict with their primary position.
