CHANGES TO OUR VIRTUAL CLASS PROGRAM!
 
We are leaving ZOOM and moving to
HBC ONLINE effective JULY 28 th !!
Members must OPT-IN and apply March
dues credit to participate in August.
 
Please be sure to read carefully
so you can participate!
 
  • Zoom classes will end on July 27th

  • HBC Online classes will BEGIN July 28th with our current Virtual schedule.

  • All Members must Opt-In to participate in the Virtual Online Classes effective August 3rd or pay $12 per class.


A.    Fitness Members:
Opt-In now to apply your March credit to have full access to all Virtual Classes. When you Opt-In you will also have access to Outdoor Classes & Pickleball.

B.    Tennis Members:  
Tennis Members that Opt-In now will apply their March credit to August, have full access to all Virtual Classes, will be able to begin to play Tennis & Pickleball and participate in the Outdoor Classes.

C.    Fitness and Tennis Members previously Opted-In and Active:
Dues will be charged at 50% of your full rate in August. You will continue to have full access to all Virtual Classes, Outdoor Classes and Pickleball.

D. Members choosing not to Opt-In:
These Members may begin paying for the Virtual classes. Per class fee of $12 per class begins August 3 rd with no Outdoor Class access.


 
We continue to look forward to the phase when we can reopen the pool and then the Fitness Center within the mandated guidelines.

To sign up for a virtual class
1. Go to the Virtual Classes Schedule in HBC Online.

2. Click “Sign Up Now” next to the class you desire to attend virtually.
You can sign up for classes up to 10 days in advance.

3. This will take you to the HBC Online Login Page. 
Enter your email and password in the “Sign In” box at the left side of the page.
All members already have a profile, so don’t add a new profile in the box at the right.

4. Click “Make a Single Reservation” . This takes you to the Shopping Cart for a class at $0.

5. Check out & Place order .

6. You will receive a confirmation email when you sign up.

7. You will receive a reminder email and/or text 2 days before your class

8. You will receive an email 30 minutes prior to the class that will allow you to join the class. (you must join from the email). Only people enrolled in the class can access the link.

9. When you get the email:
a. Click “Click Here to Join”

b.      Sign In with your email and password (same as above).

c.       When you join your microphone will be muted. Please keep it muted throughout the class unless the instructor un-mutes you.

Classes will be free for all members until August 2 nd . As of August 3 rd, members who have Opted In for Tennis or Outdoor Classes will continue to be able to take the virtual classes. 

Members who choose not to Opt In will begin paying for these classes.  $12 per class.

Non-Members will be able to take these classes for a fee: $20 per class
** Outdoor Fitness Guidelines
As of July 1, 2020

  • All members must sign up for classes online (no drop-ins)
  • Classes limited to a maximum of 12 for physical distancing
  • Once you complete the Waiver and Sign Up for an Outdoor Class in July you have agreed to Opt-In and apply your March dues credit
  • Fitness Members who Opt-In can also reserve a Pickleball Court

Instructions for Signing up Online

1.       Complete online waiver at least 24 hours prior to your first class time. You must fill out the Waiver before you sign up for your first class.

2.      Go to the Classes Schedule in HBC Online

Check the schedule regularly as it will change as we move through July

3.      Click “Sign Up Now” next to the class you desire to attend

Note: Currently Outdoor classes are listed on the same schedule as the Zoom classes. The last day for Zoom classes to be on this tab is July 27th. Beginning July 28th Outdoor classes will be on one tab and Virtual classes will be on a separate tab.
The Outdoor classes will be assigned to these Rooms:
Outdoor Fitness – Pool
Outdoor Fitness – Tennis Deck
Outdoor Fitness – Court 1

4.      This will take you to the HBC Online Login Page. 
Enter your email and password in the “Sign In” box at the left side of the page.

5.      Click “Make a Single Reservation” . T his takes you to the Shopping Cart for a class at $0.

6.       Check out & Place order There is no charge to your account.



Guidelines for attending Outdoor Fitness Classes
 effective July 1, 2020
 
1.       Class attendance will be by online reservation only (see instructions above to sign up).
No drop-in's, no guests – members who have signed up for a class are only allowed on premises. You may sign up for one class per day, up to 8 days in advance.

2.       All Members who complete the Waiver and Sign up for an Outdoor Class agrees to Opt-In and use their March Dues credit for classes in July.

3.       Classes will be limited to a maximum of 12 adult students – spaced at least 6 feet apart at all times per Alameda County Health Dept. All students must be at least 18 years of age.

4.       Person to person contact is prohibited per Alameda County Health Dept.

5.       Sharing equipment is prohibited per Alameda County Health Dept. Equipment will not be provided by the Harbor Bay Club.

6.       Bring your own mat, water bottle and towel. Club towels will not be provided. Drinking fountains & water jugs will be unavailable. Classed may be in the sun, so bring a visor, sunscreen and appropriate clothing. Members must dispose of all trash, in trash cans, before leaving or take with you.


7.       Cancellation policy: Since we are only allowed to have 12 students per class, each spot is very important to all members. Therefore, you must cancel your class reservation online at least 24 hours prior to reserved time. If you No-Show or cancel less than 24 hours prior to class, there will be a cancellation fee of $20.

8.       If it rains, classes will be canceled.

9.       Enter the club property by the side chain link gate off the parking lot near Tennis Court 2 to check-in.

10 .  Your instructor will be present to properly check you in and verify your class enrollment.

11.    Please do not arrive at the club more than 15 minutes before the class start time and please arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts.

12.    Harbor Bay Club requires all members to wear a mask from your vehicle to check-in and when entering and leaving the class area. No masks required when class is in session.

13.    Restroom facilities in the JR. Locker Room will be available. Observe social distancing while waiting.

14.    We will continue to offer Online Classes, however note: the Online Class Schedule will be changing.

Other General Guidelines:
 
Before you take a class
 
  • Wash your hands with a disinfectant soap and water (for 20 seconds or longer) or use a hand sanitizer if soap and water are not readily available, before going to the class.
  • Clean and wipe down your mat and water bottles. Do not share anything such as mats, water bottles, hats, and towels.
  • Bring a full water bottle. No water fountain or water jugs available. 
  • If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue or upper sleeve.
  • Arrive as close as possible to when you need to be there.
  • Avoid touching gates, fences, benches, etc. if you can.
 
When taking class
  • Try to stay at least six feet apart from other students. Do not make physical contact with them (such as shaking hands or a high five).
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Wash your hands promptly if you have touched your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Absolutely NO gatherings in groups.
 
After taking class
 
  • Leave the class area as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly or use a hand sanitizer after coming out of the class area.
  • Shower at home.
  • No extra-curricular or social activity should take place. No congregation after class.
  • All students should leave the facility immediately after class.
*** Guidelines for playing Tennis & Pickleball
 effective May 19, 2020

1.     Play will be by online reservation only (no drop-in's, no guests & no spectators – players only allowed on premises). Courts may be reserved up to 7 days in advance and must be booked at least 12 hours prior to play time. No back to back reservations per member. Please be aware some Courts are Closed to provide for Physical Distancing.


2.  Tennis Court hours
Monday & Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 11:00am – 8:00pm
Saturday & Sunday: 9:00am – 3:00pm

3.    Two Pickleball courts will be available for reservation. Follow all Tennis guidelines for Pickleball play.

4.    Courts can be reserved for singles & family* play for one 75-minute session and on a specific court. You must enter the court exactly at the reserved time and exit promptly when your time is up, allowing sufficient time for the next arrivals. Failure to exit promptly will result in forfeiture of future reservations privileges.

*Family Play: Play is limited to 4 persons on one court, all must be HBC Members and all live in the same household.

5.    One Member will make the reservation online in their name and enter the name of the second player (or up to 3 family members playing with them) in the Reservation Notes.

6.    Cancellation policy: You must cancel your reservation online at least 24 hours prior to reserved time.

7.    Enter by the side chain link gate off the parking lot near court 2 to check-in.

8.    Staff will be present to properly check you in and verify court reservations.

9.    Please do not arrive at the club more than 10 minutes before your reservation time.

10. Harbor Bay Club requires all members to wear a mask from your vehicle to check-in and when entering and leaving the courts. No masks required when ball is in play.

11. Bring your own equipment including balls, towel & water. Club towels will not be provided. Drinking fountains & water jugs will be unavailable. No alcohol allowed. Players must dispose of all trash, in trash cans, before leaving or take with you.

Before You Play

  • Use new balls and a new grip, if possible.
  • Consider taking extra precautions such as wearing gloves.
  • If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue or upper sleeve.
  • Arrive as close as possible to when you need to be there.
  •  Avoid touching court gates, fences, benches, etc. if you can.
 
When Playing
  • Try to stay at least six feet apart from other players. Do not make physical contact with them (such as shaking hands or a high five).
  • Avoid touching your face after handling a ball, racquet or other equipment.
  • Wash your hands promptly if you have touched your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • Avoid sharing food, drinks or towels.
  • Use your racquet/foot to pick up balls and hit them to your opponent. Avoid using your hands to pick up the balls.
  • Singles play only. No playing doubles. 
  • Stay on your side of court. Avoid changing ends of the court.
  • Remain apart from other players when taking a break.
  • If a ball from another court comes to you, send it back with a kick or with your racquet.
  • Absolutely NO gatherings in groups.
 
After Playing
 
  • Leave the court as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly or use a hand sanitizer after coming off the court.
  • Shower at home.
  • No extra-curricular or social activity should take place. No congregation after playing.
  • All players should leave the facility immediately after play.
 
Use four balls or six balls
 
  • Open two cans of tennis balls that do not share the same number on the ball.
  • Each player should mark their balls with clear and unique marking
  • Take one set of numbered balls and have your playing partner take a set of balls from the other can.
  • Proceed with play, making sure to pick up your set of numbered/marked balls only. Should a ball with the other number/marking wind up on your side of the court, do not touch the ball with your hands. Use your racquet head or feet to advance the ball to the other side of the court.
