ABOUT US: The Big Apple Bagels in Petoskey is owned and operated by lifetime local residents, Kelly and Lloyd Scripter, who purchased the store in October of 2021. Both Kelly and Lloyd come with a strong sense of community and a dedication to quality and customer service, and they look forward to serving this community for years to come. Kelly and Lloyd have lived in and supported the community their whole lives. We love to support and promote local charities, fundraisers, schools and churches. If your organization is seeking a donation please send an email to BigAppleBagelsPetoskey@yahoo.com with your request and we’ll be in touch to discuss.
Quality products and friendly service are two of the key ingredients in separating Big Apple Bagels from nearly everyone else. Our bagels are made from scratch in-house and baked fresh daily. Our cake-like muffins are prepared with a recipe that uses soybean oil – an alternative to butter or margarine – to produce a gourmet muffin that is lower in cholesterol and extraordinary tasting. We use premium meats, cheeses and greens for made-to-order fresh sandwiches or salads that are quickly prepared for dine-in or to-go service.

Clydesdale horse-drawn wagon rides are coming on Saturday.
'Harbor Harvest' festival set for Saturday
| |
By Hannah Bianchi
Market Master
This Saturday, October 8th, is our first-ever Fall Farmers Market Festival “Harbor Harvest.” Along with the usual market vendors, there will be horse-drawn wagon rides with a beautiful team of Clydesdales from Highland Roots Farm, pumpkin painting, fresh apple cider, and a bounce house.
This is also the last chance for kids to earn the ever-popular $2 market sprouts tokens. We have awarded hundreds of dollars of tokens this season, and love giving kids an opportunity to spend their own money at the Farmers Market.
This weekend we have a great group of Guests of the Market. Ċránn Bláth Fierm will be attending with a selection of local apples, and Kafui with Berg Farms will have fresh tomatoes, beans, winter squash, pumpkins, carrots, beets, and more. Carrie Roach is back with her popular hand-painted pumpkins, and Peaches the Pony is returning with Rising Hope Equestrian Center. Local artist Larissa Flynn will be painting plein air, and J&N Stone and Steel Blacksmith will be doing live demos with a selection of handmade items for sale.
“Music at the Market” this Saturday will be provided by the one and only M-119 Band. These guys are one of our favorites, you don’t want to miss them. Grab a cup of hot cider and a seat at the picnic table to enjoy some great live music.
Even though it’s late in the season, there is still a great variety of products available at the market.

A bounce house for the kids. | |
