HarborPath President Ken Trogdon meets with Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin.

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the HarborPath Newsletter. If you’re receiving this email, you share my commitment to ensuring access to life-saving medicines to those who can’t afford it. This newsletter will feature HarborPath’s work meeting the healthcare needs of uninsured individuals, as well as a digest of relevant headlines in the healthcare nonprofit space. Whether you’re a patient, an advocate, or a decision-maker, I hope it inspires you to join us in our fight.

Many of my colleagues in the nonprofit world are uneasy during this time of funding uncertainty. However, I see the current political moment as both a challenge and an opportunity to talk about why our work helping the uninsured matters. At our office in Charlotte, North Carolina, we’ve seen a notable uptick in phone calls from folks unable to afford their medications. Clearly, HarborPath’s work providing cancer drugs, Naloxone, and other life-saving medications to the uninsured is more critical than ever.

We could not do this work without our exclusive distributor, FFF Enterprises. FFF’s infrastructure and logistical expertise has made it a leader in distributing care to patients and systems across the country.

Campus influencers help spread awareness: Jordan Watkins, senior wide receiver for the Ole Miss Rebels, and other impressive student athletes, partnered with HarborPath to help save lives from drug overdoses and deadly fentanyl on college campuses. Read more about the PSA campaign in this full-length article in The Athletic.

ICYMI: Last year, HarborPath partnered with Attorney General Alliance to provide free Narcan to attendees following a panel discussion. We work with states attorneys general across the country to distribute Naloxone—the generic form of Narcan—and help prevent deaths from fentanyl overdoses.
