This year marks the 41st Annual Art & Craft Show, and we would love to see even more of our talented residents showcasing their work!
Vendor applications are now open for the event!
Artists, makers, and crafters of all kinds are encouraged to apply, whether you create handcrafted jewelry, woodworking, pottery, photography, artwork, home décor, soaps, textiles, or something completely unique.
Interested in participating? Don’t wait to apply! Vendor spaces tend to fill quickly, so we encourage interested artists and crafters to submit their applications early.
Help us continue this longtime IHB tradition and showcase the creativity found right here in our community. Vendor applications are available by clicking the following link to the City website.

As hurricane season continues, the Indian Harbour Beach Tree Preservation Board reminds residents that severely pruning palm trees does not make them safer during a storm. In fact, removing too many healthy fronds can weaken palms and leave them more vulnerable to stress, pests, and disease.
Keep these tips in mind when pruning your palms:
- Avoid “hurricane cuts” and over-pruning.
- Remove only dead, dying, broken, or hazardous fronds.
- Leave healthy green fronds growing at or above the horizontal line.
- Remember that palms rely on their green fronds to produce the food they need to stay healthy and strong.
- Encourage your landscape professionals to follow proper palm-pruning practices.
Preparing for storms doesn’t mean stripping your palms bare. Proper pruning helps protect the health and beauty of Indian Harbour Beach’s urban canopy.
Thank you to the Indian Harbour Beach Tree Preservation Board for sharing these important tips and helping keep our community’s trees healthy and thriving!

This week, we also recognize Officer Cameron Caple for his courageous efforts while responding to a drowning emergency.
Upon arrival, Officer Caple immediately took action. Still in uniform, he entered the pool, removed the victim from the water, and began performing CPR. Tragically, despite his efforts, the victim did not survive.
We are proud to recognize Officer Caple for his quick response, courage, and commitment to doing everything possible to help someone in need.

Recently, Engine 56 responded to a resident experiencing chest pain. Using IHBFD’s new Physio-Control LIFEPAK 15 Cardiac Monitor/Defibrillator, firefighter/EMTs identified a STEMI, commonly known as a major heart attack. This marked the first time the department used the new technology in the field to identify a STEMI.
Here’s how the new technology made a difference:
- Firefighter/EMTs identified the STEMI while still in the field.
- Crews were able to alert the hospital before the patient arrived, helping expedite lifesaving treatment.
- The Health First cardiac care team identified three significant coronary artery blockages and successfully reopened them.
- After several days of care, the patient was able to return home.
The new cardiac monitor/defibrillator was purchased in part through a $34,733 matching grant from the Florida Department of Health.
The addition of this lifesaving technology is part of IHBFD’s continued expansion of services as the department works toward transitioning from a fully volunteer department to a hybrid fire department model. Investments in equipment, training, and staffing are helping strengthen emergency response capabilities and enhance the level of service provided to our community.

Join the Indian Harbour Beach Fire Department as we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Together, we will honor the lives lost, recognize the courage of first responders, and reflect as a community.
Following the remembrance service, attendees are invited to join a procession to the Fire Department for fellowship and reflection. All are welcome as we honor those we lost and the heroes who answered the call.
