Harford Community College Extends Online
Learning Through Summer Semester 2020

With the health and safety of its campus community as its top priority, Harford Community College has made the decision to continue with online-only instruction for summer 2020.

In addition, Camp Curiosity, the College’s summer program for youth, has canceled face-to-face camps but is moving several offerings to an online format; a new catalog will be available soon.   Other noncredit community education programs scheduled for the summer are being assessed and moved online or rescheduled as appropriate. HCC’s Community Education, Business, and Applied Technology (CEBAT) division has stepped up to help the Maryland Veterans Affairs healthcare system. Led by Jessie Thompson and Barb Custis, a group of HCC-affiliated craftivists have been hard at work making masks for the Maryland VA, including Heather Gasswint and Pat Koermer, mother of CEBAT Dean Kelly Koermer. Also, Coordinator for Applied Technology Programs David Antol has been working to utilize HCC’s 3D printing technology to produce masks, shields, and other PPE, recently delivered to healthcare providers at The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region.

In all, 397 boxes of gloves, 10 face masks, and 521 gowns were donated. Thank you to the doctors, nurses and other health care personnel working tirelessly to help us all!
Thank You
for Supporting HCC Students

In just 18 days, the Harford community came together in support of some of our students who needed a helping hand to stay on track during the pandemic. Thanks to everyone who gave, the Harford Community College Foundation was able to assist 19 students and award $9,000 in emergency aid through the Student Emergency Assistance Fund. Those students now have a clearer path toward completing their spring semester!
