Harmonious Home Adventures
Welcome to the first Harmonious Home Adventures with Debra . Each month, I hope to give you information that you'll find useful or interesting or both about the real estate market, or staging, decor, renovation, or all of the above.

This month, it's about the holidays. Special occasions are special opportunities to make your home sing.

Please let me know what you think! And if there are particular things you'd like to see here in the months ahead, just let me know and I'll do my best to make that happen.

So let's get on with the festivities!

Tis the Season
The holidays are upon us. While here in North Texas we haven’t yet had much cool weather, the season is changing and the pages of the calendar seem to be turning faster and faster.

This time of year means so many different things to people, but one thing is nearly universal – almost everyone does some kind of special decorating. And the variety is astounding!
Home Tours
One of my favorite things about the holidays is that there are so many opportunities to see beautiful homes, decked out for the season. Here in the Fort Worth area there are several home tours where decorating best efforts are on display. Taking these tours is a great way not only to see how others interpret the season but to get ideas for your own holiday trimmings.

Many of the home tours this year seem to be scheduled at the same time: the first weekend in December. My favorite, the Ryan Place Tour of Homes, is on Saturday and Sunday, December 2 & 3. You can get more information here.

Style

Decorative styles run the gamut any time of year and the holidays are no different.

Special décor can be minimalist, like this lovely vignette I found on Pinterest:
Or a bit more elaborate, like this setting from apartment34.com:
The point is that your home should be the place where you feel contentment – during the holidays and throughout the year. Whatever your decorating style, this is the time of year to indulge and put a little warm shine on it. Whether you like to go all out like this Good Housekeeping shot
Or if you prefer things a little lower key
Make your home reflect your heart.

May the peace, joy, and love of the season be with you and yours.

Happy Holidays!
