Mr. Ferhat Demir, has spent the school system’s COVID-19 closure hard at work inside the lab, 3D-printing medical face shields to help alleviate the shortage of supplies experienced by health care workers across the region. Earlier this month all of Mr. Demir's hard work was was welcomed as Harmony Science Academy donated 75 face shields to the Ector County Emergency Management department. So far, Harmony Public Schools has donated more than 2,500 mask to COVID-19 relief workers throughout Texas. Many of those masks were made by individual teachers working from home during the COVID-19 outbreak. The school system continues to seek donations of fabrication materials or other resources to help increase production. To donate, visit  https://harmonytx.org/donate-covid19 .

Teacher appreciation week is celebrated the first week of May every year, and is typically filled with handmade cards, candy and small gifts to the teachers. However, this year schools are having to celebrate it differently due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, Harmony Science Academy - Odessa decided to a bit different this year... by throwing an appreciation parade for their teachers, parents, and students.
Harmony Science Academy- Odessa hosted a STEAM festival open to the public on February 22nd. Activities included student science projects and demonstrations, a live wax museum, art show, and fun hands on activities for the whole family.
