Harmony Highlights:
May 2021 Edition

As we close out the 2020-2021 school year, I want to thank our incredible teachers, students, and parents for another successful school year. Even through the challenges we faced this year, we were able to overcome and provide our students with a safe, collaborative learning environment where excellence is the standard.

I also want to recognize our seniors who will be graduating next week from Harmony Science Academy and Harmony School of Innovation. This was not the senior year you had imagined, but even with all the obstacles put in front of you, you excelled. I feel confident that the Harmony class of 2021 will positively impact our world. The future is bright!

As we look towards the upcoming school year, we will continue to share information with you via email, our website and social media. Thank you again for your continued support during this unique school year. We hope you and your families have a happy and safe summer.

Sincerely,
Kamil Yilmaz – Area Superintendent
Congratulations to our District Teachers of the Year!
HSA students got to learn and explore the history of El Segundo Barrio. Many of the students had never seen the murals in that area before. Ms. Urban-Flores arranged to have the artists and Dr. Leyva, a UTEP professor of History, give the students an authentic background of the work.
To celebrate the 5th graders promotion to middle school, Harmony School of Excellence hosted a carnival themed end of year party. The students enjoyed pizza, popcorn, cupcakes and carnival games. Best of luck on the transition to middle school.

Always remember, you are Champions!
The Harmony School of Science inaugural school year is coming to a close and we are excited to celebrate our Pre-K graduation. Not only is this the first graduation for the HSS campus, it also marks the first Pre-K graduation for a Harmony campus in El Paso. Currently, the other three schools do not offer this grade level.

It was definitely a unique experience opening up a new campus during a pandemic and we are so proud of these graduates and all of our students for making it through this year.

Congratulations HSS Class of 2021!
Congratulations to M. Larios Muñoz on being the recipient of the El Paso Affiliate Rising Star Award of behalf of UTEP and The National Center for Women & Information Technology! The NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Awards identify, recognize and encourage young women for their aspirations and achievements in computing. Awardees are selected for their computing and IT aptitude, leadership ability, academic history, and plans for post-secondary education.
To celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of summer, HSA Odessa held a two day field day event. Activities included water balloon toss, noodle tag, slip n slide, pizza box relays, bean bag toss, and frozen lemonade from Maui Wowi.

This may have not been the typical school year, but we were happy to end the year with an event the students look forward to.
While construction is nearing completion and our sign recently installed, the HSA Lubbock team is currently packing all their belongings and getting ready to say goodbye to the campus that some have called home for the last 14 years. With the nostalgia, also comes excitement, as we prepare to close one chapter and begin our next one at our new home at 3701 W. Loop 289 for the 2021-2022 school year.

We are still accepting application for NEW students for the 2021-2022 school year. Please share with friends/family who might be interested in becoming a part of the Harmony family.
