(HOUSTON) - Harmony Public Schools is the top-performing school district in the greater Houston area, according to Children at Risk. The Texas education non-profit ranked the charter school system's Houston West District with an "A" grade for the Elementary, Middle and High school categories in the 2021-2022 school year. Harmony's Houston North District ranked number two for high school students.
"Harmony Public Schools strives at providing every student with a high-quality STEM-based education. We are honored with the Children at Risk recognition which reflects the integrity and diligence of our students and staff," said Ramazan Coskuner, Harmony Public Schools Houston West & South Districts, Area Superintendent.
Children at Risk analyzed more than 1,400 public schools from Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery and Waller counties. Each school was assigned ranks and grades based on raw student achievement, achievement relative to poverty levels, and year-over-year student growth. For high school, there's a fourth metric of college readiness.
