Sunday Worship

Holding Out for Hope ... in a Pumpkin Patch

We know that enthusiasm is contagious. When we're around someone who is enthusiastic, we feel more energized and excited. Real, passionate enthusiasm... that's Linus in the peanut patch... enthusiastically waiting for, hoping for the Great Pumpkin to appear. When there is no appearance (it's only Snoopy), Linus holds out hope for "next time", when he will once again invite friends to wait with him for hope to be realized. Our gospel text from Luke is the story of friends who hold out hope to one who needs a healing from Jesus. Hope realized. Are we the friends who offer not only the hope of restoration, but also willing to lead the way to Jesus?  Find us on Facebook at St. Paul's United Methodist Church-Rochester.

Holding Out for Hope ... in a Pumpkin Patch

Each year, Linus holds out hope for the arrival of the Great Pumpkin and invites others to join him. How do we hold out hope for our friends? Today, we’ll hear how a group of friends responded when one they loved needed a living hope.

John Wesley's Aldersgate Experience

Young John Wesley (1703-1791) was a failure as a missionary. Even more, he doubted his salvation. We’ll look at his life-changing experience at Aldersgate Church in London, the chance way it happened, and why it was so pivotal in his life. Consider how God turns failure and doubt into effectiveness and inspirational faith.

Find us on Facebook at St. Paul's United Methodist Church-Rochester.
