Dear Katie,

May was such a beautiful month! There were so many posts to the Nature Watchers group of birds, plants, and even the aurora borealis. We had a hard time choosing just a few to share. Want to see the rest? Click here to join the Facebook Group.

What are you seeing out there? We'd love to hear from you! Click here for more information about Harpswell Nature Watchers.

A bouncing ray of sunshine peeking through on a cloudy day, this little showboat of a Yellow Warbler knows how to work the camera!

First time seeing the Northern Lights and it was spectacular!

This just happened this afternoon.

We heard a commotion and saw a bunch of Crows making a fuss on the waterfront. They were trying to harass a Bald Eagle that was eating something right at the edge of the water. After I blew up these pictures I could see it had caught a horseshoe crab. After ignoring the Crows for a few minutes the Eagle took off, with a couple of Crows in pursuit.

The forest is offering a feast for the eyes as everything is blooming! Blueberries (bottom center), swamp azalea, the Indian cucumber-root plants have buds, the Canada bunchberries and mayflowers have bloomed, lady slippers, bluebead lilies (top left), starflower, sarsaparilla blooms are opening (top right), and the little fringed polygalas. A fabulous time for a walk, even the mosquitos are buzzing about it.
