Dear Katie,

August was a busy month for Harpswell's wildlife! There was so much shared in the group, it was hard to pick just a few things for this email. Want to see the rest? Click here to join the Facebook Group.

What are you seeing out there? We'd love to hear from you! Click here for more information about Harpswell Nature Watchers.

Female Red-Winged Blackbird.

I thought she was some sort of sparrow (or perhaps a juvenile of some other species based on the speckled coat), but when I asked Merlin to ID her from some of the pictures it told me she was a female Red-Winged Blackbird, and in Merlin's description it said they are often misidentified as sparrows.
