Affordable Housing | The Retreat at Westlock Senior Community
Overview

The Retreat at Westlock is a new 62 and older senior community featuring spacious one and two-bedroom apartment homes in northwest Harris County slated to open in the Spring of 2017. Learn more at www.retreatatwestlock.com.

Construction Update

Structural inspections are complete and the project is estimated to be nearly 50% complete.

Electrical work is 90% complete, AT&T wiring has been placed and CenterPoint has installed gas lines around buildings. Window installations are 100% complete and exterior apartment unit doors are set in all buildings. 

Brickwork on the first floor columns is complete, the perimeter fence is 50% complete and Stucco work comenced mid-January.

 
Housing Choice Voucher
Program (HCV) | Landlord Opportunities to House 254 Clients, Housing for Homeless Veterans a Success.

Program Highlights

The HCV program closed out 2016 with meeting the goal of maintaining an average 98% lease-up rate for clients who were issued vouchers! This could not have been possible without the good relationships between clients and landlords in our communities.

Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH)

The HUD-VASH program combines HCV rental assistance for homeless Veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the VA.

In 2016, the HCHA VASH team increased its success rate of housing homeless Veterans by 12% over 2015 through strategic, coordinated efforts which also let to 5 Veterans reaching self sufficiency.
