🍺 🍺 TapHouse Brings New Life to Former Cotton Mill

Tuscarora TapHouse has quickly become a popular weekend destination in Mount Pleasant offering a unique blend of entertainment options including axe throwing, cornhole, pool, ping pong, and darts.


🪓 This is the newest venture for Frank and Ashlyn who also own Iron Axe Society in Gibson Mill.


  • Tuscarora serves up craft and domestic beers, wine, cider, and non-alcoholic beverages while also featuring a steady lineup of Food Trucks for guests to enjoy. They even hosted Atomic Cigars, a new mobile cigar truck.


You can find Live Music announcements featuring local artists and bands on their Facebook and Instagram pages as well as Music Bingo and Trivia Nights.


This Friday, celebrate Cinco de Mayo at the TapHouse from 4–10pm!

🎤 Karaoke with DJ Yow; 🌮 La Casita Del Sabor Food Truck; 🍺 Mexican Lager from Uwharrie Brewing as well as our regular taps, along with a few possible surprises!

🎸 Harrisburg Announces Outdoor Concert Series

The Town of Harrisburg announced its 2023 Rockin’ the Burg Community Concert Series, a free, family-friendly outdoor concert series, held on the Harrisburg Park Amphitheater Stage.


  • The Town is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and each Rockin’ the Burg Concert will be honoring a specific decade.


They have also released the Event Schedule for their Annual July 4th Celebration.


  • The weekend-long event began in the late '90s as a way to honor and celebrate the military and their families.


The weekend begins with one of the largest and most well-attended parades in the area. The 2023 Celebration will also feature more amusements, TWO headliners, and TWO nights of spectacular fireworks!

🎸🍻 Cabarrus Brewing Launches “Rockin’ the Brew” Beer Series

🎉 Cheers to 50 YEARS! 🎊

CBC launched its latest collaboration with Harrisburg as they celebrate their 50th anniversary as an incorporated town.


  • “Rockin’ The Brew” is an American Light Lager brewed specifically for the Burg. The series is designed to commemorate the '70s, ’80s, ’90s, and '00s as they recognize all the monumental milestones the Town has achieved to make it what it is today.

The first beer of the series (’70s) will be released next week to select local retailers. Rockin’ The Brew will also be available at every Rockin’ the Burg concert throughout the summer. The labels were specifically designed with collectors in mind.

🧭 Explore Cabarrus Launches 2023-2024 Destination Guide

The Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CCCVB) launched its 2023-2024 Destination Guide last week just in time for National Travel & Tourism Week on May 7-13th.


The pages are packed with stunning images captured by Michael A. Anderson Photography including this year’s cover which features the Buffalo Creek Preserve Trail in Mt. Pleasant as a nod to North Carolina’s Year of the Trail.


  • President and CEO Donna Carpenter said, “Encouraging continued exploration is our goal and this tool helps both our community and visitors to discover new experiences and make lifelong memories here.”


You can view the Destination Guide online or pick up a hard copy at the CCCVB’s Visitor Center in Concord or at various locations around the county.

🛹 Take the Skatepark Survey

The City of Concord and American Ramp Company (ARC) are seeking feedback from the community on a proposed future skatepark at Academy-Gibson Park. The goal of the survey is to help ARC determine what styles of obstacles/features the community is interested in incorporating into the design. You can also see examples of skateparks in other communities.


⏰ HURRY...the survey is only open for a few more days.

🎶 🔥 Spring Carolina Breakaway Music Fest is back for the first of two events at zMAX Dragway this weekend. On May 5-6th, headliners Deadmau5, Illenium, Tiësto, and Zedd are just a few of the bands that will be performing. Individual day or 2-Day passes are available. See the full lineup, attractions, and festival map, or order tickets on their website. Save the date for their Fall Festival as well in September.

🍓🥕🌻 The Kannapolis Farmers Market will open for the 2023 season next week, Thursday, May 4! The market is held every Thursday, 4-7pm at the corner of Vance St. and Dale Earnhardt Blvd. through September. 🚗 Gibson Mill is hosting the AutoBarn Classic Cars Annual Spring Cruise-In on Saturday, May 6th from 9am-1pm! Admission, registration, and the trolley to AutoBarn are FREE. Throughout the day there will be drawings for door prizes, a 50/50 Raffle, food, and music by DJ Gary Walter. All proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County. 


🌼 🛍️ Buzzed Viking Brewing Co. is hosting a Spring Pop Up Shop on Sunday, May 7th from 12-4pm. The event is a great way to support small businesses and includes a Vendor Show, Live Music, Brews, and Yummy Eats.


📚 Join Read for Those in Need during the month of May. It’s a reading challenge and charity drive in support of several local food assistance programs. The library branch that logs the most reading minutes will earn their community’s food pantry a $2,500 donation from the Cabarrus Literacy Council (CLC).


🏍️🎸 The Swanee Theatre is hosting its first-ever Bike Night on Saturday, May 6th from 6-10pm. Park your bike under their marquee and you will also receive FREE admission to see the Georgia Thunderbolts that night!
