The Purchase Community House is sponsoring a Toy Drive to benefit The Harrison Holiday Project. Below is a letter from the organizers.
Please donate a new, unwrapped toy to this worthy cause. Our Candy Stripe Toy Box will be in the PCH Main Hall through Friday December 3rd.
Thank you for your support!
Dear Harrison Community Member,
Over the past several years, The Harrison Holiday Project has collected funds for food and gifts to give to Harrison families in need. This initiative, which was created to spread holiday cheer to needy families in Harrison, West Harrison and Purchase, has become the ‘feel-good’ project of the year that many look forward to. It brings this wonderful community of ours together to help one another. As the 2021 Holiday Season approaches, we recognize that this year has been more challenging in so many ways for our entire community and many of our neighbors lost so much during the floods. Everyone likes to feel special during the holiday season, no matter his or her age. As residents and past supporters of the Project, we are once again reaching out to you to help bring holiday joy to members of our community.
With the prolongation of difficult economic conditions brought on by the COVID-19 crisis and the recent devastating floods caused by Hurricane Ida, the Harrison Department of Community Services continues to receive assistance requests from Harrison residents in need. We hope that with your generosity, we will be able to provide during the holiday time for these individuals within our community. The Harrison Holiday Project families range from 1 to 10 people including the elderly, single parents, and children, infants to teens.
In support of the Harrison Holiday Project The Purchase Community House will be accepting toys for boys and girls from infants to teens. Please when donating; make sure that the toy is NEW and unwrapped.
This is the perfect time of year to remember just how much better it feels to give than receive. With that in mind, please help us help our neighbors feel the joy of this year’s holiday season. Let’s generously demonstrate why it truly is great to live in Harrison through a coming together of community - neighbor helping neighbor.
Thanks so much in advance for your support. Please know how much it is truly appreciated.
