It's time for Mrs. Moser, Mrs. Ross, and Mrs. Hart to float away...

Join us next Friday, September 7 (weather permitting) at 8:00 am to watch the balloon launch!  The hot air balloon will take off from the field behind Hart.  Please follow normal arrival procedures with all students reporting to the cafeteria.  At the 7:50 bell, teachers will pick up their classes from the cafeteria and take attendance.  They will then head to the playground to watch the launch.  Students will stay with their class during the launch. Parents are welcome to join their child's class.

Parents joining us for the launch can enter through the front door or the side door by the gym where you will sign in, get a visitor sticker, and head to the playground where you will wait for your child's class.
Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Dear Hart Families,

It has been another great week at Hart! I want to take a moment to introduce Mr. Rhett O'Neal. Rhett is our new campus Security Officer/School Marshall. He started on Monday after completing a rigorous Marshall training program, logging 80 hours over 8 days. Mr. Rhett brings with him 10 years experience in the army and 2 years experience in different areas of law enforcement. In the short time he has been here, he is already very familiar with the Hart campus and all of the procedures and activities that occur daily on campus. We have appreciated his insight and thinking as we work to ensure that all students are safe and secure while you entrust them with us.

We have also welcomed a new second grade teacher, Mrs. Muryum Saleem. Her new class is off to a great start! 2nd grade, district wide, exp erienced increased enrollment during August. This caused our classes to jump to 23 stu dents. We are thankful to have the opportunity to add an additional section of 2nd grade to reduce class sizes. Mrs. Saleem brings 24 years of teaching experience with he r and h as already jumped right in with the 2nd grade team.

Finally, I want to invite you to join us for our grade level spirit nights at Wild Salsa hosted by the PTA.  This is a great way to get to connect with other families in your child's grade and catch up with friends.  You might even see your child's teacher and other Hart staff.  Here are the dates for the spirit nights:
September 12th  - 4th Grade
September 25th - 1st Grade
September 26th - Kindergarten
October 2nd - 2nd Grade
October 3rd - 3rd Grade

I hope everyone has a fantastic, three-day weekend!
With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

Thank you for your understanding and helping keep our kiddos safe and healthy!

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR POWERSCHOOL!!!!

Message from the Nurse
Please remember, if your little ones have had diarrhea, fever greater than 100 (without medications), or vomiting they must be out of school for a full 24 hours so that we can help keep protect others.
HEAD LICE
This is the time of year that brings upsetting incidences involving head lice. Head lice can happen to anyone, so it is important to learn how to recognize, treat and prevent it from happening again! Here's what to look for:

-Persistent itching of the head
-Small white particles attached to hair that are difficult to remove
-Small brown bugs that move very fast

*We no longer conduct "line-up" classroom lice checks but if a child is having any sign/symptoms listed above, they are sent to the clinic for assessment. We do not give specific information on particular children or classrooms that have had incidences of lice. However, if there has been a child in your child's classroom with a head lice diagnosis, you will receive a packet stating there has been a diagnosis in the class with more detailed info and education attached. For more information please refer to the link on our website under Hart Elementary/Clinic drop down tab. On the left side there is a link that is always available for your education.

MISSING IMMUNIZATIONS

There are a handful of our students that are still missing appropriate documentation of immunizations per Texas State Regulations. Please get these to the school nurse, Allison Wright, ASAP so that your child can continue attending school. If required immunization documentation is not received (or process of series has not started if full series is required) we may have to delay school attendance until we have appropriate documentation. Please call me (Nurse Alli) with any questions, 469-742-8156. Thank You!

Thank you for your cooperation!

Counselor's Corner

Our Character Pillar for the September will be Respect.

Respect helps our children build and maintain positive friendships. When students understand and respect individual differences, it helps students to not only accept one another, but also to celebrate and learn from these differences. When students, parents, and staff are open to appreciating each individual person, a supportive school community is created, one in which all students and families feel a sense of belonging. In order to maintain positive peer relationships, students should be mindful to treat others as they would like to be treated and to apologize when mistakes are made. Apologizing demonstrates empathy and accountability, and is a necessary component in maintaining positive peer relationships. Teachers and staff will begin handing out character tickets and spirit sticks to students who are demonstrating outstanding character.

Please feel free to contact me any time with questions, concerns, or comments!

New! Lovejoy Senior Requests Assistance with Senior Project

A message from Lovejoy Senior, Alexandra Brungardt:

"As an incoming senior, I have selected a project that is close to my heart. There is a "Toy Closet" at the Cancer Hospital from which patients can choose an item to help during their stay. I want to stock the Closet with as many toys as possible.  In order to purchase toys for the closet, donation bins will be placed at each of the schools and the red building. These bins will be collecting gently used Lovejoy Spirit Wear. Once collected, the spirit wear will be sold and the money used to buy Toys for the Closet.

The toys will be donated in memory of Walker Jack Rainey.

I can be reached at [email protected] with any comments or questions.  Thank you for your generosity."
