Dear Hart Families,

We are excited to welcome our Hart dads to "Donuts with Dad" Tuesday, November 5 and Wednesday, November 6. On Tuesday morning at 7:30 am-8:00 am, we invite all students with last names beginning with A-L to join us in the cafeteria to enjoy donuts with their dad.  All other students will report to their classrooms and will enjoy a donut with their teacher.  We will do the same thing on Wednesday morning at 7:30 am-8:00 am for students with last names beginning with M-Z. Doors will open at 7:30 am.

With over 70 entries it was terribly difficult to pick the top 5. Votes were tallied and here are the winning pumpkins. Congratulations to all! Please click here to watch a video showcasing all of our amazing entries.

Today we presented Mrs. Molly Baker with the Heart of the Teacher award.
The Heart of a Teacher Award is presented to an educator on each of our six campuses who displays great evidence of exemplifying our core value of One Heart One Lovejoy and the pillars of our Educator/Graduate Profile in an educator role:

Serving our students, parents and community is truly one of the greatest callings of a lifetime. We are so thankful for all of our team members who serve with their whole heart. Congratulations Mrs. Baker!!!!

Message from the Nurse:

Currently we are seeing a rise in strep throat cases, allergy related illness (ragweed has been high), a stomach virus with most predominant symptoms being stomach ache with cramping, vomiting, diarrhea, headache. It seems that not all are getting fever with this virus and seems to be lasting anywhere from 24-48 hours. Now that the weather has changed we have also started to see a respiratory virus (some have croup with this) with predominant symptoms being fever, cough, stomach ache, headache.

Please remember, if your little ones have had diarrhea, fever greater than 100 (without medications), or vomiting they must be out of school for a full 24 hours so that we can help keep protect others.

If your child is absent from school, written documentation is needed. Please email
Alis_Brantl@lovejoyisd.net and  Heather_Bouska@lovejoyisd.net with the date and reason for the absence. You can also use the School Dismissal App to report an illnesses. Thanks for all you do at home to keep your children healthy and in school.

If your child has physical restrictions from activity, please email Coach Eric Hill, eric_hill@lovejoyisd.net and Nurse Alli, allison_wright@lovejoyisd.net. Contacting Coach and Nurse Alli directly will ensure the limitation is noted and alternate plans can be made.
Thank you!

Dear Lovejoy Community,

We are officially kicking off the 6th annual Lovejoy Letter Campaign for teachers and staff members. Our goal is to have our community write appreciation letters for each teacher and staff member in Lovejoy ISD before the Thanksgiving
break.

The letters do not need to be elaborate or lengthy. The goal is just for people to write a note of gratitude for supporting our students. We do not want to add heavy burdens to our community, but we do want to share how much we appreciate our teachers and staff! Keep it #shortandsweet and #showappreciation!

We would be grateful if you would write letters to any teacher or staff member who has been valuable to your child's educational experience. It can be from this current year, or someone who has made an impact in the past. Please label the envelope with "LLC" and the staff or teacher's name, then drop off the letter to the front office of your school by Friday, November 15th.

The letter campaign has become such a meaningful tradition in our community. We appreciate the time and effort your contributions will make again to this year's letter campaign. Remember #shortandsweet and #showappreciation. Also, don't forget the kids! The teachers and staff love to hear from the students they are impacting.
