Message from the Nurse:

Medication Pick Up
Please take a minute to pick up your student's medication from
Nurse Alli. Medication that has not been picked up will be discarded June 1, 2018 @ noon. Medication must be picked up by a parent or guardian for everyone's safety.

ILLNESS
We are currently seeing strep throat and allergy symptoms. The stomach virus seems to have tapered off. We have not seen any diagnoses of flu recently.

HEAD LICE
This is the time of year that brings upsetting incidences involving head lice. Head lice can happen to anyone, so it is important to learn how to recognize, treat and prevent it from happening again! Here's what to look for:

-Persistent itching of the head
-Small white particles attached to hair that are difficult to remove
-Small brown bugs that move very fast

*We no longer conduct "line-up" classroom lice checks but if a child is having any sign/symptoms listed above, they are sent to the clinic for assessment. We do not give specific information on particular children or classrooms that have had incidences of lice. However, if your child is in class with another child who has a known diagnosis of head lice, you will receive a packet of information stating there has been a diagnosis in the classroom and policy/resources in regards to lice. For more information please refer to the link on our website under Hart Elementary/Clinic drop down tab. On the left side there is a link that is always available for your education.

If your child is absent from school, written documentation is needed. Please email [email protected] and [email protected] with the date and reason for the absence. Thanks for all you do at home to keep your children healthy and in school.

Please refer to the Lovejoy ISD web site under Hart Campuses / Departments / Clinic for more info. about the flu.

Important News from Student Nutrition
Regarding Change in Student Meal Accounts

In an effort to help minimize negative balances at the end of the school year, beginning Monday, May 14
th, and for the remainder of the school year, students will no longer be able to charge meals which result in the student incurring a negative meal account balance. Students may continue to use their lunch accounts as long as they have a positive meal account balance. Households with students who currently have negative balances will receive reminder emails and phone calls. Federal regulations prohibit us from rolling over negative balances to the next school year. Please arrange to remit payment for any negative lunch accounts your child may have incurred.

All positive balances will be rolled over to next school year. If you have a graduating senior, funds may be transferred to any sibling in the school district. To request a meal account refund, please complete a refund request form, located on the Student Nutrition website . For assistance, please contact us at 469-742-8041 .

The Department of Student Nutrition Services thanks you for your understanding and for allowing us to serve your student(s) this school year.

FC Leopard Indoor Summer Soccer

Two Lovejoy parents, Abby Gray and Dan Murphy, are forming a Lovejoy 4th Grade girls indoor soccer team. The idea of the team is for girls with a similar interest in soccer to get to know each other and have fun. The goal is to have a team of girls from Lovejoy, Hart and Puster Elementary Schools. Basic information follows:

  • 1-2 practices at the beginning of the season to understand the rules and get to know other players
  • 8 total games, 45 minutes long, no playoffs, no trophies - just having some fun, getting some exercise, and getting to know other girls
  • It's indoor at PSA Murphy so it will always bright and air-conditioned. Games are from June 2nd through August 12th
  • Fast-paced, non-stop action. The clock never stops and the substitutions are real time
  • Since we will not be having practices, we are looking for girls who have played soccer within the last year
  • Both recreational and competitive players are welcome
