Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Dear Hart Families,

What an amazing first week! Teachers spent the first week building relationships with students, creating a learning community, teaching new routines and expectations, and practicing school procedures.  I so enjoyed visiting classrooms and seeing it all in action.

After watching my own child crash last night, I said to my husband, "there is no tired, like first week tired." I hope you take the weekend to rest up and rejuvenate for the 2nd week of school.

As always, please feel free to contact me or call me with any questions or concerns. My cell number is 970-309-1581 and please feel free to use it at anytime.

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser
PLEASE UPDATE YOUR POWERSCHOOL!!!!

The PowerSchool Portal is open for you to complete the online enrollment student forms. Please take a few minutes to update your contact information, emergency contacts, authorized pick, FERPA, SCOC, Student Handbook, etc.

PLEASE NOTE: Regarding the Release of Directory Information for School Use: In order for your child's picture to appear in the yearbook, you should answer "Yes".

Message from the Nurse
Please remember, if your little ones have had diarrhea, fever greater than 100 (without medications), or vomiting they must be out of school for a full 24 hours so that we can help keep protect others.
HEAD LICE
This is the time of year that brings upsetting incidences involving head lice. Head lice can happen to anyone, so it is important to learn how to recognize, treat and prevent it from happening again! Here's what to look for:

-Persistent itching of the head
-Small white particles attached to hair that are difficult to remove
-Small brown bugs that move very fast

*We no longer conduct "line-up" classroom lice checks but if a child is having any sign/symptoms listed above, they are sent to the clinic for assessment. We do not give specific information on particular children or classrooms that have had incidences of lice. However, if there has been a child in your child's classroom with a head lice diagnosis, you will receive a packet stating there has been a diagnosis in the class with more detailed info and education attached. For more information please refer to the link on our website under Hart Elementary/Clinic drop down tab. On the left side there is a link that is always available for your education.

MISSING IMMUNIZATIONS

There are a handful of our students that are still missing appropriate documentation of immunizations per Texas State Regulations. Please get these to the school nurse, Allison Wright, ASAP so that your child can continue attending school. If required immunization documentation is not received (or process of series has not started if full series is required) we may have to delay school attendance until we have appropriate documentation. Please call me (Nurse Alli) with any questions, 469-742-8156. Thank You!

Thank you for your cooperation!

Lunchroom Visitors
No Lunch Visitors During the first 2 weeks of school
As in years past, I am asking that we not have any visitors in the lunchroom for the first week of school. The students will be learning new lunch room routines and procedures. Beginning Sept. 4,
please join us any day for lunch.

Lunchroom Visitors
You are welcome to have lunch with your child throughout the year. Please keep in mind that you may only bring food for your child to eat. We have many students on campus with food allergies and this will ensure that students are not put at risk.

New! Lovejoy Senior Requests Assistance with Senior Project

A message from Lovejoy Senior, Alexandra Brungardt:

"As an incoming senior, I have selected a project that is close to my heart. There is a "Toy Closet" at the Cancer Hospital from which patients can choose an item to help during their stay. I want to stock the Closet with as many toys as possible.  In order to purchase toys for the closet, donation bins will be placed at each of the schools and the red building. These bins will be collecting gently used Lovejoy Spirit Wear. Once collected, the spirit wear will be sold and the money used to buy Toys for the Closet.

The toys will be donated in memory of Walker Jack Rainey.

I can be reached at [email protected] with any comments or questions.  Thank you for your generosity."

Receive Text Messages from Lovejoy ISD
Lovejoy ISD is adding text messaging capability to SchoolMessenger, the system we use for phone calls and email communications for information such as school closings due to inclement weather. SchoolMessenger will be configured to send text messages to your wireless phone number(s), with your approval.

To get started, please confirm we have your accurate wireless phone number in the PowerSchool Parent Portal and then opt-in to participate by following the directions below:

In order to receive messages from Lovejoy ISD or your student's school via SMS text we must have your wireless number(s) in SchoolMessenger and receive an "Opt-In Confirmation" from your wireless device.

You can easily opt-in by simply sending "Y" (or "Yes"), via text message, to our SchoolMessenger Short Code number 67587.

The wireless number(s) you enter into the PowerSchool Parent Portal are updated nightly. If you update your wireless number, or add a new number, in the PowerSchool Parent Portal, the new number will automatically be sent an Opt-In message.
