Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Dear Hart Families,

Today we had a great performance by Dennis Lee. He spoke about keeping our bodies healthy and saying no to drugs. He also had a great message about being true to yourself in a crazy world. Thank you Hart PTA for making this happen, and a huge shout out to Mrs. Scoville for all of the fun Red Ribbon Week activities!

Lunch visitors are great and it is a wonderful way for students to spend time with their loved ones as well as friends. We are asking all lunch visitors to join their student at their lunch table. We have found that by changing the location of where the visitor sits, we are able to engage all students and make the experience more enjoyable. Thank you for being so involved and making Hart the wonderful place it is!

I wanted to share a story from this week that made us all so proud! We are always reminding students that their character is what they do when no one is looking.  Anyone can make good choices when teachers, parents, or other adults are watching, but it's the choices made when they aren't around that really counts.  This is an email that was sent to Dr. Goddard highlighting an amazing unsolicited good deed!  Way to go Valin and Carly Kinsella!

    Dear Dr. Goddard,
I came home today and saw 2 kids in my backyard area and was watching what they were doing for a few minutes. I noticed that they were picking up ALL the trash that had blown into my tree line from the storm last night. I went out to ask them why they were doing it and they began to tell me that Hart has many character traits and they are important to show even when your not at school, and one is taking the time to do good things and make sure there isn't any trash anywhere.
I wanted to somehow bring this to your attention so maybe we can get a shoutout to them to let them know that they are appreciated and are being wonderful examples of what it is to be a Leopard.
Both my boys have grown up in the district so I miss hearing all the cool things we learned at such a young age. But even as my oldest plays soccer for UMHB and my Junior at lovejoy I still see the traits today.
Thank you for what you do, it doesn't go unnoticed.

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

Message from the Nurse:

Currently we are seeing a rise in strep throat cases, allergy related illness (ragweed has been high), a stomach virus with most predominant symptoms being stomach ache with cramping, vomiting, diarrhea, headache. It seems that not all are getting fever with this virus and seems to be lasting anywhere from 24-48 hours. Now that the weather has changed we have also started to see a respiratory virus (some have croup with this) with predominant symptoms being fever, cough, stomach ache, headache.

Please remember, if your little ones have had diarrhea, fever greater than 100 (without medications), or vomiting they must be out of school for a full 24 hours so that we can help keep protect others.

If your child is absent from school, written documentation is needed. Please email
[email protected] and  [email protected] with the date and reason for the absence. You can also use the School Dismissal App to report an illnesses. Thanks for all you do at home to keep your children healthy and in school.

If your child has physical restrictions from activity, please email Coach Eric Hill, [email protected] and Nurse Alli, [email protected]. Contacting Coach and Nurse Alli directly will ensure the limitation is noted and alternate plans can be made.
Thank you!

Nurse Alli

Pumpkins must be turned in on Monday, October 28. Contest voting will take place on Tuesday, October 29. Winners will be announced Thursday, October 31.

We would appreciate it if artificial craft pumpkins would be used to enter the pumpkin decorating contest. We know that real pumpkins are more fun and add to the feeling of fall, however, real pumpkins rot very fast. We know you have all worked so very hard on your creations and would be so sad to have them rotting and leaking. Not to mention, the ooze ruins the books and attracts pesty insects. Craft pumpkins can be purchased at any craft store (ie Michaels, Hobby Lobby). They can also be purchased at your local Wal-Mart or Target.
Thank you so much for your understanding!!!

Dear Lovejoy Community,

We are officially kicking off the 6th annual Lovejoy Letter Campaign for teachers and staff members. Our goal is to have our community write appreciation letters for each teacher and staff member in Lovejoy ISD before the Thanksgiving
break.

The letters do not need to be elaborate or lengthy. The goal is just for people to write a note of gratitude for supporting our students. We do not want to add heavy burdens to our community, but we do want to share how much we appreciate our teachers and staff! Keep it #shortandsweet and #showappreciation!

We would be grateful if you would write letters to any teacher or staff member who has been valuable to your child's educational experience. It can be from this current year, or someone who has made an impact in the past. Please label the envelope with "LLC" and the staff or teacher's name, then drop off the letter to the front office of your school by Friday, November 15th.

The letter campaign has become such a meaningful tradition in our community. We appreciate the time and effort your contributions will make again to this year's letter campaign. Remember #shortandsweet and #showappreciation. Also, don't forget the kids! The teachers and staff love to hear from the students they are impacting.
