Message from the Principal
Lacey Moser

Dear Hart Families,

What a great week it was at Hart celebrating being healthy and drug free! Thank you to everyone for participating in our spirit days and our coin drive. We will announce the total money raised for the ACO early next week. I enjoyed watching our 4th graders plant their tulips today in front of the building and I can't wait to see them bloom!

We are excited to welcome our Hart dads to "Donuts with Dad" next Tuesday and Wednesday  morning.  On Tuesday morning at 7:30, we invite all students with last names beginning with A-L to join us in the cafeteria to enjoy donuts with their dad.  All other students will report to their classrooms and will enjoy a donut with their teacher.  We will do the same thing on Wednesday morning for students with last names beginning with M-Z.

Don't forget to turn your clocks back Saturday night!  We wish everyone a great weekend!

With a Full HeART,
Lacey Moser

A note from Coach Garber and Coach Hill

Dear Parents,

We recently sent home in your child's Thursday packet, a brochure/registration form for this year's .5/5K Rudolph Run. This year's race will be held in downtown Allen on Saturday Dec. 1. The run is open to any and all family members/relatives/neighbors. A portion of the registration fee will be donated back to Hart Elementary. Each registration form has an area to designate Hart Elementary as your school. We have received a few "paper" registration forms. We recommend registering online by clicking here or by going to AllenParks.org/RudolphRun - (.5DonnerDash:Registration #8187 - RudolphRun5K: Registration #8188). The online registration deadline (for receiving Hart Elementary credit) is Sun. Nov. 18th.
If you have any questions we can help answer, do not hesitate to call us at school or call the Allen Parks and Recreation to ask about the run. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you on Sat., Dec.1st in downtown Allen for the 2018 Rudolph Run.

Sincerely,
Coach Garber and Coach Hill

Notes from Nurse Allie

Currently we are seeing allergy related illness (ragweed has been high) and a couple other viruses with most predominate symptoms being headache, sore throat, stomach ache, and vomiting. It seems that not all are getting fever with this virus and seems to be lasting anywhere from 48-72 hours. We are also seeing cases of Fifth's Disease.
Please remember, if your little ones have had diarrhea, fever greater than 100 (without medications), or vomiting they must be out of school for a full 24 hours so that we can help keep protect others.

HEAD LICE
This is the time of year that brings upsetting incidences involving head lice. Head lice can happen to anyone, so it is important to learn how to recognize, treat and prevent it from happening again! Here's what to look for:

-Persistent itching of the head
-Small white particles attached to hair that are difficult to remove
-Small brown bugs that move very fast

*We no longer conduct "line-up" classroom lice checks but if a child is having any sign/symptoms listed above, they are sent to the clinic for assessment. We do not give specific information on particular children or classrooms that have had incidences of lice. However, if there has been a child in your child's classroom with a head lice diagnosis, you will receive a packet stating there has been a diagnosis in the class with more detailed info and education attached.  For more information please refer to the link on our website under Hart Elementary/Clinic drop down tab. On the left side there is a link that is always available for your education.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Design Contest

Calling all artists! Hart is looking for Hart students to design the next set of Thankful cards for Project Thankful coming this November.  Project Thankful is an opportunity for Hart students, families, and staff members to send a card to tell someone that they are thankful for him or her.  All the money received will be used to adopt children through the Allen Community Outreach (ACO) Holiday Adoption Program,   www.acocares.org.  Last year we adopted 6 children! We would love to surpass last year.

Entry Requirements
Entries should focus on the theme of being thankful. Hart students may enter a black and white drawing on the form that was sent home. The panel will select two winners from each grade level. The winning drawings will be used as the design for the 2018 Thankful cards.
Forms can be picked up in the Counselor's office or front office.  Entries are due to Miss. McDaniel or Mrs. Scoville by Monday, November 12th at 8:00 am .   All entries should be placed in the box marked "Project Thankful" in the library.
Winners will be announced during announcements on Tuesday, November 13th .  Thank you for your participation! We can't wait to see what the Hart students come up with!
Thank you,
Miss. McDaniel and Mrs. Scoville

Circle of Partners

Lovejoy ISD is pleased to welcome Tutoring 101 to the Circle of Partners . Tutoring 101 and Lovejoy ISD have formed a revenue generating/sharing partnership to bring their services to Lovejoy families. Please see below for several offerings.

Private tutoring is available for students in grades K-12 in all subjects. Tutoring 101 recommends once a week tutoring for an hour to increase grades and learn subject matter more deeply. A once a week appointment usually results in an increase of one letter grade or more. Turn those C's into B's.

What is your SAT/ACT score? Want a better one? What do you need it to be?
Invest in a PSAT/SAT/ACT Prep program not just a class. Tutoring 101 helps high scorers get top scores, average students raise their scores and poor test takers achieve the scores colleges want. Tutoring 101 students have earned admissions and scholarships, and have saved thousands of tuition dollars every year.
  • Specialize in working with individual students and their specific needs
  • Day-of-test strategies
  • One-on-one/small groups
  • PSAT/SAT Classes: Tues or Thurs or Saturdays
  • ACT Prep Classes: Mon/Wed or Sat
  • One on One and Online Prep also available
  • School District Employee Discount
Learn about Tutoring 101's all-inclusive PSAT/SAT/ACT programs:

Lovejoy Letter Campaign
A Message from the Lovejoy Letter Liaison
Dear Campus Families:

We need your help to let our teachers and staff know how much our Lovejoy ISD community values them and the impact they have on our children! Teachers' salaries include a 1 ½% payment (annual compensation) on the Friday before Thanksgiving break. In addition to the payment the staff receives, we would like to include a handwritten letter from Lovejoy families expressing gratitude and appreciation to each teacher and staff member on our campuses.

We would be so grateful if you would write a letter or letter(s) to any teacher(s) or staff member(s), either current or past, who have played a valuable role in your child(ren)'s educational experience. Please clearly label the envelope with the teacher's/staff name and LLC (Lovejoy Letter Campaign) and return it to the front office of the applicable school by Friday, November 9.

The letter campaign has become a meaningful Lovejoy tradition. We appreciate the time and effort your contributions will make to this year's letter campaign. Remember #shortandsweet #showappreciation.

Sincerely,
Lovejoy Letter Liaison
